Just curious really Smile

I'm 33+3 with DC1, baby is head down and has been for ages, carrying quite low but not engaged yet.

Midwife said it will engage anytime from now so I'm patiently waiting for bump to drop Smile

Pelvis is aching a bit now!

Well at my last midwife apt at 36 weeks my baby hadnt engaged but like you has been head down and low for quite some time.

I'm 38 weeks on Sunday and have an apt on Tuesday so fingers crossed baby has engaged then!

Never.
He was 3/5 engaged fairly early on, but even after 36 gruelling hours of labour still wasn't fully engaged (much as I never got past 5cm dilated!); so he came out through the sunroof.

My first baby didn't engage until I went into labour.

polkadotsrock · 11/10/2013 20:20

Early. Left me sore and swollen for weeks on end! However I didn't feel a contraction til 5cms so I do wonder if the two are linked.

Ju1es22 · 11/10/2013 20:26

My dd was totally engaged totally at 30 weeks and didn't arrive until 38 weeks was so uncomfortable!

MyNameIsAnAnagram · 11/10/2013 20:29

36 weeks I think, born at 42.

Bearfrills · 11/10/2013 20:29

DS didn't engage until I was 6cm dilated, I didn't think I was actually in labour because he still had his bum right up in my ribs (or so it felt like).

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and baby still not engaged, has been head down since midwife checked at 28 week appointment. Had appointment on Weds and said baby is just resting right at my pelvis so I imagine any time now they'll be dropping in

DS never really engaged, well not enough for me to feel it. He partially engaged at 39 weeks just enough for me to be induced at 40 weeks due to hypertension.

But when my waters broke I felt a great big walloping clunk like a bowling ball falling into my pelvis.... I think that was him engaging!! Confused

BentleyBelly · 12/10/2013 05:07

About 20 mins before she was born!

cogitosum · 12/10/2013 07:56

Baby was fully engaged at 36 weeks. Then at 41 weeks was only 3/5 and turned back to back! Ds born 42 + 1

TobyLerone · 12/10/2013 07:59

In (induced) labour.

PumpkinPie2013 · 12/10/2013 08:57

Thanks all Smile looks like there is huge variation!

Mine feels like it's getting a bit lower and bump looks a little lower today so we'll see!

My lower back/tummy are aching (not pain just aches) and randomly my legs ache Hmm
