dating scan and 'the fear'.

So, tommorow im having my dating scan at hospital. I paid for a private scan last week which said 7 w 4 d. I had a mmc in december and two erpcs which was horrific. By dates I should be 13 weeks tommorow so im thinking it will be bad news as the private scan didnt match with that. However, cycles can be irregular, right? I will be happier if tommoroe shows 8 weeks ish.Im very worried. Plus p is shitfaced and being horrible. No one to have ds tommorow so scan alone. I have hyperemesis and am signed off and have just had to reapply for my own job. Shit. This is a pity rant! Thanks if you get to the end.

Fingers crossed for you. Cycles can be irregular and I think there is some error for margin in the dates they give at scans too, so hopefully you will have good news. Good luck x

Ty ty. I should pull myself together really but exactly the same thing happened last time. God im being a big sap.

I knew exactly when I conceived DS as DH was away. By my dates, DS was due Bonfire Night. Scans showed he was due 26th. I said that didn't seem right, was firmly told otherwise. He arrived 2nd November, built like a sumo wrestler, no vernix and 9 lb. When I told the midwife what the scan had said she laughed and said he was as cooked as cooked can be, full term if not a little over, then sighed and said, "they never listen to women, do they? Just the machines."

So not only can your cycle be irregular, scans can be, too. And by 8 weeks there will definitely have been a heartbeat, so that's a good sign? They'd have said if they had noted any cause for concern.

I'll keep everything very, very crossed for you. Hope tomorrow brings lovely news.

You aren't being a sap at all. I had an ectopic last year and the early stages of this pregnancy were bloody terrifying as a result. What you're being is human.

Aww poor you. God it's awful as well when P is being horrid. Bloody Fridays when pregnant. Anyway will keep everything crossed for tomorrow!! xxxxx

I was such a mess while waiting for my dating scan after a MC. And they also got the date wrong, I know exactly when it was conceived and the scan was off by more than a week.

Good luck!! If you saw a heartbeat last week then your chances are good and you just ovulated late!
