constant hunger accompanied by nausea - anyone else?

I am 11w5d with DC2 and I am just constantly so hungry it's ridiculous. The amount I am eating you'd think I should be the size of a horse by now, but I've only put on a couple of lbs, so am guessing my body/the baby needs it. I literally get a rumbling tum about an hour or 2 after meals and it's like if it I don't eat it makes me feel nauseous. I am eating 4 (smaller than normal due to bloating) meals a day plus snacks. DH thinks it's hilarious!

I am still getting a lot of nausea (it disappeared for a few days last week but is back with a vengeance) although I've not actually been sick at all - crisps, mini-cheddars, toast and generally anything salty or unhealthy seems to help.

I am getting seriously worried I am going to end up either huge or with GD at this rate - please tell me it will ease off soon...... I'm pretty sure I didn't have any of this last time Confused

I'm with you there. 12+2 here and exactly the same - no actual up chucking but tons of nausea and so hungry it's ridiculous. I have to eat every two hours pretty much, including a bowl of porridge before bed, otherwise I get really shaky, dizzy and nauseous. Bloody annoying as I'm wheat intolerant and finding snacks that aren't junk food is difficult. Also, thinking about food makes me heave, so I need it just plonked in front of me!

And the heartburn...don't get me started Confused

Sorry you're feeling it too Misty

I haven't had any heartburn to speak of yet, but I do get indigestion and my word, the trapped wind, OMG! DH was very unsympathetic and can't understand how a 'little bit of wind' can have me writhing in agony Angry

Oh I'm so glad someone else has this. I'm so HUNGRY. I woke up at 2am and had to really tell myself to not go and eat, I was starving! 3 meals a day plus snacks or filling drinks to tide me over. I was a 5'6'' size 10... but have now got a bump at 11 weeks. I'd like to think it's twins, but I think it's food! I only ate one meal a day prior to pregnancy, god knows how... really bad habit. Just trying to stuff myself with sweet potatoes, I love jalepinos too... Had an olive phase, and drinking loads of milk/nesquick/horlicks... trying to only have 1 kitkat a day!!!

I have been known to get up in the early hours and have a bowl of cereal then go back to bed Blush

I had this all through first trimester, I was ravenous and felt if I didn't eat I'd be sick.
Then one evening at the end of week 11 it just stopped dead. It really was that sudden and I've been pretty much fine. I get very hungry at breakfast & lunchtime still but not the same gnawing feeling.
Fingers crossed its the same for you & you feel much better very soon!

Lj8893 · 01/10/2013 01:11

I had this in the first trimester, strong nausea that was only settled by food, and hunger pangs that came on with no warning!

It's all come back with a vengeance at 36 weeks!

PastaBeeandCheese · 01/10/2013 06:43

I didn't get sick both times but the hunger was horrendous. It eased off at about 14 weeks and I suddenly found I was happy to eat healthy, reasonable sized portions again. I also only gained a few lbs.

I'd indulge it for another few weeks and see where you are then.

quackojuliet · 01/10/2013 07:15

I had this all thru the first tri, was awful. Couldn't find a solution other than follow what my body wanted and try and eat more healthy balanced diet once I felt better around 14 weeks.

bebopanddoowop · 01/10/2013 13:20

Yes OP the same dates as you and have had massive sickness for about 7/8 weeks but the last week I've also been sooo hungry! So weird isn't it?

curlyLJ · 01/10/2013 19:23

I find it varies day to day too - wonder if it's when the little bub has a growth spurt...? I ate soooo much yesterday, but today have only eaten a relatively normal amount and I don't have the hunger pangs so much thankfully.
On the downside, the constipation is back though Sad

Roll on the second tri and the 'blooming' stage everyone talks about. I am ready to bloom!

7 weeks and constantly starving.. like I feel like I'm dying of starvation if I go more than two hours or so with out snacking.
