When can I wear my wedding rings said?!

I gave birth two weeks ago...from about 33 weeks my fingers were too swollen to wear my wedding rings.

I put this down to water retention and thought after birth they would return to normal.

So far, they haven't, can't even get them anywhere near my knuckle!

Have my finger joints got bigger (like my feet), or are my fingers covered in fat now?! I put on a couple of stone when pregnant and would estimate a stone at least has gone.

Or is it water retention that's taking its sweet time to go?!

Help!

Sorry, title should read 'again' not said.

Clearly my fingers are too fat to type too Smile

My fingers took a couple of months + to go down properly, mixture of water retention and fat :) before I could get my rings back on.

Could be a bit of both - you'll be able to wear them sooner or later! Think it was about a month for me, but have seen friends take longer, have also seen people manage to wear them again within days!

my DD was 11 weeks yesterday and I've just been able to put my ring on again. it's a little snugger than it was, but I don't care!

I put mine back in 3 weeks ago - DS2 was one yesterday! I did however put on an obscene amount of weight.

With my first pregnancy my rings came off after about 25weeks and didn't go back on for a month or too after I gave birth. I'm due again next week and amazingly I've still got my rings on, genuinely shocked they still fit! I'm sure you'll have your rings on soon.

I couldn't get mine back on until about 3 months after birth. I'd taken them off at about 28 weeks so I was ringless for pretty much 6 months!

In the same boat. Mine came off at about 25 weeks - now 37+4.

I got fed up of people asking if I knew who the father was and automatically looking for a ring on my finger when I said my Husband, and having to explain that they didnt fit at the moment, but I really am married!

So I bought a cheap butterfly ring from Argos to wear in the mean time!

Due in 2.5 weeks so hopefully will be able to get them back on soon. Sadly, it's our 2nd anniversary tomorrow and I won't be wearing them! Sad

Took mine off for the first time in seven years a week or so ago. Am 20wks pregnant and had terribly painful fingers with DS. Remember holding a bag of frozen peas in bed at 3am. Smile
Think they went down fairly quickly after birth though. Can't remember. All a bit of a blur!

Thanks for all the interesting responses, lets hope I can get them back on again soon Smile

Mine is still stuck on 2 years after I had my last Blush.

I am an actual idiot - it didn't even occur to me to take it off!
