13+3, brown blood/discharge and freaking out.

Hi, I'm really worried as hve just seen some town blood in my discharge, not a huge amount just about a 5p size. Usual thick pg discharge but brown. Nothing really on wiping just a teeny teeny speck of pink. But nevertheless I am freakingout.

I have some cramping but I have had this since day one and the ob said it was normal (for me as it has been consistent). I had a scan on Thursday and all was well.

What can I do at this time of night? Unknown I have to wait until tommorrow and I know there's nothing anyone can do. But can this be ok, is it game over?

Bleeding is quite common and miscarriages after 12 weeks are rare. Why not go to a and e now?

Phone your assesment unit. The number should be in the front of your notes book.

My freind had a bleed around the 13 week stage and was told it was down to the placenta taking over. She had no problems with the rest of her pregnancy and the little one is nowca healthy feisty five year old

Just called the ward as they said to sit tight and go to a&e if it becomes red. No idea how I'm going to get any sleep. I'll be in the loo every 5 mins checking.

If this is over I don't know how I'll ever make it through another pregnancy, it's just too hard :(

I had the same thing and all is well with my baby. 25 weeks now . Bleeding is very common. Mine was even bright red too. Ive blead in all 3 pregnancies and all were fine . Try to relax xx

I have had two episodes of finding dry/old blood in my underwear and on the toilet paper when wiping. The first happened when I was 7 weeks pregnant and the second when I was 10 weeks pregnant. Both times the discharge/spotting lasted about 2-3 days. I had emergency scans both times and the baby was fine.

Last Thursday, now at 14 weeks, I had a huge bleed of fresh red blood. Toilet paper covered in it, red blood in my underwear, toilet bowl full of blood and needing sanitary towels to absorb it. I was obviously petrified. I went straight to hospital and another scan showed the baby was fine. The fresh bleed started to ease off over the course of the evening but since it happened I have been having losses of brown/old blood again. I'm not particularly worried though as I'm sure it is just the residual blood coming out from the big bleed I had.

My point is, bleeding does not always mean the worst!!

I hope it stops for you soon but obviously call them again if you are still worried x x

Thanks for all your comments. No more blood bit I'm still having crampingx despite having bad this from day one I'm still concerned about it. No answer from mw yet but I guess it's still early. Will keep trying just so I can get some reassurance although I'm fairly sure it's all fine, I just get so upset having had a misscarriage before this pg.

sleep...hope your mw contacts you soon & they can arrange a reassurance scan for you asap.
As others have said, bleeding can be common & doesn't always mean there's something wrong.
But I know this won't stop you worrying, especially after a previous loss - so sorry.
I know how scary a pregnancy after loss feels.

So fed up, can't get through to midwives or ante natal clinic. Been ttrying all morning and have left messages. Totally useless.

Ring your local hospital and ask to be put through to the Pregnancy Assessment Unit.

Thanks or the replies, sorry for the late reply. I'm Not in uk although similar system. But no epau just delivery ward and ante natal clinic. I eventually made an appointment with my Gp who has referred me for a scan tommorrow, hopefully, I'll find out when in the morning.

Thank you all for your concern. thankfully the baby is fine but there was something picked up.

I have started another thread about the scan findings but no body has replied so I guess no one knows anything about it.

Basically there has been some slight separation of te membranes around the baby. The placenta is fine and still fully attached and she seemed very unconcerned and said they should re attach. I just left it at that, but afterwards thought of a million questions. What I'd it doesn't re attach? Should I avoid heavy lifting? What are the implications etx. So I googled and have of course terrified myself. All sorts of complications could arise if it doesn't reattach. Like aminotic bands where the baby's limbs can get amputated by the stranded of membrane getting caught up with the baby. Or prem labour. Or increased chance of miscarriage. Plus if it isnt fully attached by 16 wks it can be linked to chromosomal abnormalities ( although all bloodwork looks good with low risk etc)

Basically I think she didn't want to give me the full picture as she knows what a worrier I am.

I dont know who to speak to to get answers. She didn't advise a follow up scan and I don't know if I can wait til 20 weeks to find out if everything is ok :(

I agree with pink...make a list & phone the hospital for answers/reassurance/advice.
