Flu Jab in March, Baby Due November, Do I Need Another Jab?

Hi, I am due at the end of November and had a flu vaccine at the end of March when I was only a few weeks pregnant. No-one at my GP surgery seems to be able to tell me if I'll need another one since to my mind this winter is a 'new' season and I think they change the formula of the vaccines from year to year. Has anyone else come across this scenario?

No real experience but they do change the jab each winter, so it is pretty possible it will be a new formula this winter, I'm due soon too and just had the new flu jab on Thursday, just book in, better safe than sorry, extra top up won't harm anyone Smile have you had your whooping cough jab yet? You can get them both at the same time Smile

Congrats and good luck x

yes, the flu jab will be very different this year, and then you can pass on some helpful antibodies to your little one too to help with their first winter :) xxxx hope that helps

Yes I am exactly the same! Had mine at beginning of march and baby due mid November and the midwife says I need to get another one in about two weeks time when thy come out again. Because its different and will cover u and the baby when it's born xx

Yes I'm in the same boat. I was given the flu jab at the start of this pregnancy back in March and am also due in early November. I've booked my second flu jab for this coming Saturday.

Thanks everyone. I asked my mw yesterday and she said it was up to me, but that it shouldn't do any harm, so I think I'll just book myself in. Don't want to take the risk.
