I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and most definitely huge. My skinny jeans still fit but my belly is massive. I have ibs so am very use to bloating and this isnt. This is dc2. I'm growing a hippo aren't I?! When did you show with dc2?

Yes, it's a hippo. Or "it" is "they".

A bump is only accounted for by singleton baby at around 12-14 weeks. Before at it's bloat (or you've started eating for two way too early).

That said, by the time I was up to DC3 I swear I looked distinctly PG from 8 weeks onwards! I just assumed by abdomen knew what was coming and surrendered early!

Maybe not growing a hippo ..but maybe becoming one ;) just joking. Or you having twins but one made from cakes ??

It will settle. You might stop growing now as much.

Take care ..always

I started wearing comfy maternity jeans with dc1 at 8 weeks, partially related to needing to buy some as had thrown up on the trousers I was wearing! now 16wks with dc2 and still in pre preg jeans, although the more comfortable ones! I suffer from pregnancy sickness and this time round lost weight in the first trimester.

Not sure with my first but with ds2 and now with ds3 I had awful bloating from 8 to17 weeks. It looked just like a 5 month pregnancy bump by the end of the day.
If its significantly bigger in the evening then you may have bloating issues.

I was probably around 14-16 weeks.
Are you having twins?!

Imnotaslimjim · 25/09/2013 21:35

My DS was showing with a definite bump at 8 weeks.......with her first

I stayed in normal clothes til well after 6 months with DC1, but was in maternity wear through need at 9 weeks with DC2!

I'm nearly 12wks with dc2 and know exactly what you mean. I also get bloating a lot when not pregnant - and this is not that. People ask how long I've got left! Same size all day and don't fit into any of my trousers already. I showed early with ds too and remember my mum's scathing response when I said as much!

Let's just enjoy it before we feel like we're growing a whale.... Grin
