Hi,

I've just had my 1st DD, she's totally gorgeous and I'm completely in love! She's 10 days old now and I already want to sort trying for another one! DH is v reticent tho saying its too soon, but it might take ages to get bfp!! He says they'll be too close together etc too much hard work etc

What is your opinions on having two close together? X

Two close together, fine, but give yourself some time to recover first. You've just spent nine months growing a person, it takes a lot out of you.

And congrats on your DD Flowers

Give it some time, enjoy your DD. she's only 10 days old!!

Congratulations on your baby!

I'm having DC2 (18 months apart) but I think with a 10 day baby your hormones will still be all over the place.

Looking back to the way I felt in the first couple of weeks after giving birth, I wouldn't trust my judgment to make life changing decisions until things settle down a bit.

I would advise you to wait until your DD is at least 3 months and see how you feel then. Smile

Congratulations on your DS!

I remember feeling like this! Totally in love with DD and eager to get on and make another! Be prepared for this feeling to last for a couple of months. It helped me to discuss a sensible timeframe to start trying again that both DH and I could agree on.

As it turned out, I was really broody until the 4 month sleep regression kicked in. That was enough to make me think I couldn't even cope with the child I had, let alone another! Grin Cue 2 months of sleep hell, followed by night weaning at 6 months which caused my periods to come back and I immediately (accidentally!) became pregnant. DD is now 10 months and I'm 4 months pregnant with DC2!

I am truly thrilled and DD sleeps through now so I've forgotten how tough that part is!

Good luck!

My boys are aged 5 and 6 and have 12 months and 17 days between them, I've never regretted it - they are best friends. It's wasn't particularly hard work (not that I remember anyway - may have forgotten) although my youngest did spend his first 6 months crying all night!

Now that they are both at school I'm having another and have around 5 weeks to go! In saying the above I won't be doing it again! 3 is enough for me I think.

There's something weird that goes on with your hormones after giving birth, I'm sure! I was the most miserable cow ever for the majority of my pregnancy, but the minute DD was born I was certain I wanted another! Hasn't gone away yet either-waiting for the perspective to kick in!
