Taking thyroxine and with GD in previous pregnancy

Hello
I just got my BFP yesterday (after 9 months of trying) and I wonder how it's going to be. I have been taking 125mcgm tyroxine every morning for the past year and in my previous pregnancy I had Gestational Diabetes (daughter now 20 months).

How quickly will the GD return? Will it definitely return? Will taking Thyroxine now affect being able to control it with meformin?

So many questions.
Shall phone the GP ASAP to get an appointment to review the thyroxine levels and shall see what they say, but I am just curious if anyone has been in this position...

Thanks

Hi TinyTear,
I had GD with first baby and just had my 18 week GTT, which was negative. I will still need to be tested again at 28 weeks but I think the midwife said the chances are 50/50 that you would get it again.
I'm sorry I don't know anything about thyroxine. Is it related to diabetes? Mine was diet controlled last time so I don't know as much about drugs and what affects them.
Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Thanks, that is good to know. I thought GD was a given on a second pregnancy...

I tried to do diet control but then needed metformin and in the final week needed overnight insulin as my fasting levels were the harder to control...

The thyroxine is for low thyroid levels. I was diagnosed 7 months post partum but my doctor is not sure it is pregnancy related or if it was previously undiagnosed.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
