Anyone else pregnant after a late loss?

We lost our son 2 hours after an emergency section at 27 weeks last nov. I am now 5 weeks pregnant again and looking for anyone in a similar situation and would love to know how you are doing! There were complications throughout the pregnancy including a 1:10 ratio for a genetic problem which eventually was cleared after a cvs although they could never guarantee the heart looked ok.

I am now nervous about this pregnancy and also wondering if you are receiving consultant checks or anything different to before.

Thanks

I'm sorry for your loss, and congratulations on your pregnancy! There's a thread here which may be what you're looking for.

I am. I am 13 weeks after losing my son at 38 weeks last time. It's very tough.

Hi Rosduk, i'm really sorry for the loss of your son, pregnancy after such a late loss is a very singular position to be in and difficult to understand for those who haven't endured it.

However, congratulations on your pregnancy! Flowers

My daughter died age 8 days and when I got pregnant again I was a nervous wreck. I joined the Sands forum which has a section for pregnancies after loss. The women on there are wonderful, they do know what you are going through and will help you remember your son and cope with this pregnancy. I am now pregnant for the third time and feeling a lot more relaxed about things. For this pregnancy and the last one I was on consultant care until we all felt satisfied that all was well - extra in depth specialist scans showed no problems.

Good luck to both you and tsw.

I am currently 34 weeks pregnant. My first pg ended with stillbirth at 36 weeks due to a knot in the cord, I then went on to have two miscarriages before I fell pg this time.

I have GD, and SPD and I'm currently waiting for UTI results to come back. I'm consultant led which has been brilliant, he really looks after me and has booked me in for an induction or c-section in week 37 (my choice) depending on the position on the baby.

It has been hard and it gets harder every day as we near the birth. I try to keep myself busy with other things, and watch a lot of boxsets and movies to try and pass the time.

Good luck op, I hope everything goes well. And just remember any feelings you are having are normal, its a scary time.
