Hi,

Sorry if this is TMI but I have never had a skin tag(at least I think that is what it is) before.

It is below my actual nipple but on the areola, is there anything I need to do??

I am 20 weeks btw?

TIA

I got lots of them (about 5 between both nipples) in my first pregnancy. I think they're called Montgomery's nodules (but I may have totally misremembered that). They're super common, and have something to do with the oils around your nipple working hard to lubricate you well for sucking. But again, I half recall this from googling ten years ago, so try a search on that for starters. Still got mine, and they don't seem too freaky now.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I have a skin tag on my nipple, have had it for years. Will it cause a problem when breastfeeding does anyone know?

I had one on my areola in my teens which i despised. Being young and too embarressed to tell anyone i used dental floss to tie around the base and it died and fell off. It never came back even after all these years. Im not recommending this in case it isnt a skin tag and somthing else, but if you get it checked and it is just that, maybe its worth clonsidering.

Hi all, thanks

It is not a Montgomery's nodule, it is an actual skin tag, I know that I have Montgomery's nodules as well.

I may try the dental floss, how long does it take to fall off??

Lj, I wonder the same
