Sex during 3rd trimester

handlemecarefully · 16/02/2004 13:48

I'm not - dh is peturbed!(although it should come as no surprise as I was exactly the same during 1st pregnancy)

I'm not being prurient or nosey - but are you / would you during the 3rd trimester...or can't you be bothered / feel like beached whale like me?

The reason I ask is that I secretly hope that most of you will respond saying 'God gawd, no!' so that I can print off the thread and show dh that he is not all that hard done by. But don't let my hidden agenda influence your answers

I'm afraid I'm another yes in all 3 trimesters. In 3rd trimester now, had a nice Valentines...

handlemecarefully · 16/02/2004 16:04

I think that's 8 for 'No'
6 for 'Yes'...

Make it 9 for `Good Gawd, no'!

Blu · 16/02/2004 16:20

Yeah, swap me for Coddy, who feels queasy.

I do think my DP developed a rather pervy fascination for my burgeoning body...which got worse during labour when the MWs sent us upstairs to try Nipple Stimulation, and by the time he was begging to squeeze the handle on the dreaded Avent Pump I was way beyond a polite 'good gawd, NO!'

Debbiethemum · 16/02/2004 16:22

I also had a lovely valentines....

However as we already have 1 ds, we are both knackered a lot of the time, but any spare energy !!

BTW 31 weeks and counting

Mermaid2 · 16/02/2004 16:59

We carried on up until about 2 weeks before birth when I was just way too big.

miranda2 · 16/02/2004 17:04

I bizarrely felt particularly horny in the last month!! Normally I'm fairly take it or leave it (a once a fortnight gal) but I was up for it every night ... didn't induce labour though, ended up being induced two weeks late. Bah...

GenT · 16/02/2004 17:40

yes here, probably helped with labour tooooo

Lesley76 · 16/02/2004 20:38

Sorry - but we're another yes please lots ( during all 3 trimesters)!

Stargazer · 17/02/2004 12:11

Didn't put us off - bit like bunnies Sorry!!

Bozza · 17/02/2004 12:40

Would be happy too if DH would make it up the stairs before 10 pm. But as he won't he's obviously not that bothered. Although has started making mutterings - I think it must be about 6 weeks since last occasion - but I've had various colds etc.

SpringChicken · 17/02/2004 12:47

Think this is part of our problem Bozza - as i have been quite tired during this pregnancy i am usually upstairs in bed at about 9.30 ish and then by 10 i'm fast asleep - whereas he doesn't need much sleep and quite often sits downstairs watching TV til 11o'clock!

S'pose that's still not an excuse but it works for me

oliveoil · 17/02/2004 12:53

ditto spring chicken.

Was far too tired/sick in the first trimester this time round, also worried as I had bleeding but am feeling quite, erm, excited at the mo as we have spent the morning texting rude things.

Thing is, I will get in from work tired and bog eyed so he will be getting his hopes up in vain methinks.

handlemecarefully · 17/02/2004 13:26

I think I now make it 11 for 'No' and 12 for 'Yes'.....

Mentioned to dh how the thread was going and he said rather dismissively - "Oh just give me some manual stimulation (well he put it a bit more bluntly than that...two words, beginning with 'h' and 'j' and that will do". Well I flaming well won't be doing that, since that says to me he's just looking for a bit of relief rather than a shared 'lurrrve making experience'

Sorry - I was happy to get down and dirty right the way through both my pregnancies. In fact I was rather disappointed when labour did start (2 weeks late!) with my 2nd pregnancy, as I had a saucy weekend ahead planned to get the contractions going

prettycandles · 17/02/2004 15:18

dd was overdue, and I couldn't face the other after-effects of a curry, so I was desperate for a good *** (especially as it had been so much fun in the 2nd trimester! ), but GOOD GAWD NO! beached whale...SPD...totally breathless already...knackered (ha ha ha)...

Anyway, if he wants a handshake he'd might as well DIY.

pollingfold · 18/02/2004 14:30

Put me down for a yes, but DH was the relustant party, someone had told him the joke....

...In a labour ward a woman is in the final stages of labour with her husband reassuring and motivating her to push. The husband moves to the business end and is there at the delivery of his little baby, who he picks up and stares at with love and adoration. Just then the baby eyes open and its hand comes up and prods it finger against the new dads forhead and few times and says "Now you know what it feels like".

I cajouled DH to do the act 2 weeks after EDD, but he obviously hated it....and it didn't work. This time round he hasn't even raised the subject of sex.

Motherdearest · 18/02/2004 20:47

By 3rd trimester, could not be arsed - too tired.

Anyhow, the baby used to get very active every time he felt fruity and that really put him off.

emmatmg · 18/02/2004 21:12

YUK YUK YUK YUK YUK
Absolutley a big fat NOOOOOOOO.

We did a few times but I never really enjoyed it properly IYKWIM. However on the first attempt at nookie after each our boys were born I did enjoy it properly!!!!

I know seem to have been transplanted with someone elses libido and have become obsessed with it. DH can't believe his luck

fairydust · 26/02/2004 15:12

we didn't have sex from me being 10weeks pg till 10months after dd was born as i couldn't bare the thought of it.

aloha · 26/02/2004 15:33

Well, I wasn't allowed for medical reasons from very early on and from 32weeks onwards was living at Kings College Hospital, and I don't think they would have been too impressed...

Twinkie · 26/02/2004 15:45

x2b found me repulsive apparently so no we didn't do it!!

Pregnant women get DP going though - he thinks they look really healthy and wholesome and life giving etc etc etc (he is in therapy, don't worry!!) so I expect will do it loads when I get pregers (if not already) - although god he could go the other way and have a thing about not wanting to do it cause baby in there - oh my god!! thats really likely with him too

tolly · 21/04/2004 14:36

We were very hot all the time. Experimented with every position known and some. My arty girlfriend, Jamaican 26 yr old, was heavily pregnant at the same time as me and we both thought she was dead sexy. One fancy dress do she had some see through thing on and we both raved about her bump and nipples. I have never been bisexual BTW, just in case some of you might ask. That night the sex was so hot and I had my second girl 2 weeks later.
