I have always suffered back problems but im 25 weeks pregnant and right at the bottom of my back in the middle constantly feels like its going to snap, iv had pain there for around 2 months but at firsy it was only if I was laid flat and tried to turn or get up but now its constant. I have an 19 month old lg who I can hardly pick up, im in tears if I try walking her anywhere but my pram is huge and heavy so just as bad using that. iv brought a support belt but its hardly helping. I walked up stairs the other day in agony and just had visions of ending up in a wheelchair at the age 20! my partner is brilliant and so supportive but he works full time and with Christmas coming up hes working so hard and 6 day weeks. I'm at the midwife tomorrow but been told it sounds like spd...what do you ladies think? and how am I going to look after my lg when I struggle to pick her up or take her anywhere. I'm so down and in a lot of pain all the time. I'm already taking codeine for fibromylgia but they dont really help the pain much and dont want to take them too much cause of my baby :( im just at such a loss :( x

sorry to hear about your pain. I also had spd five years ago. I was referred to a physio group for women with spd . I learnt some things about going up the stairs sideways and sitting down when putting on trousers etc. Your midwife should be able to refer you to a specialist? Also , once you have given birth this should disappear - that probably doesn't help much at moment : (. Can you swap the pram or see if anyone has a free one on Freecycle.org? hth x
