is anybody having/had a 4d scan to find out the sex at 16 weeks?

I'm booked in to have a 4d scan next monday ill be 16 weeks+1 day then, I'm a very impatiaint person and can't wait to find out what I'm having. Can anybody tell me their experiances of them? If there good or not? Or is any1 as impatitant as me lol

I had scan at 16w to find out sex, which we did. She switched it onto 4d for a bit but wasn't very clear, maybe due to the fat on my belly? Think it varies

I had one it was fantastic, I too am an impatient person and wanted to know as soon as possible plus the hospital I had my 20week scan didn't disclose the sex.

They were very sure on the sex and got it right too and said there and then if they weren't sure then they would rebook me.

We had a scan at 17 weeks to find out sex. They gave us a sneak peek with the 4d setting on and baby was very skeletal. I think 4d is recommended a little later on! Enjoy though :)

I had one at 27 weeks with my last ds. Not to find out sex but just because I wanted to see him again! I had it done through babybond and it was great, they did look down there to confirm gender and there was no mistaking he was a boySmile it was weird seeing what he was doing so clearly and watching him suck his thumb. I would go again.

I had one at just gone 16 weeks with my second child. I was told 80% boy, but she couldn't be 100% sure it wasn't just the cord.

Two weeks later at my anatomy scan it was quite clear DD2 was a DD Grin

Thanks for your comments guys quite a few people have told me to wait till I'm further gone to have one done because there not very good so early on but that would mean waiting till the 24th october to find out the sex and I'm far to impatiant for that lol. When is everyone due?

I had the gender scan at 16 weeks and I got a wee sneak preview of 4d, at 16 weeks there wasn't much to see but my friend got one done at 30 weeks and the 4d was so clear....chubby cheeks, fingers moving etc.

do you have to pay privately to have this 16 wk gender scan?

I only get one dating scan at 12 wks and one anomaly scan at 20 wks from my hospital.

I definitely would if I had the money. I'm about a week ahead of you and I "can't" wait until October to find out either.

My hospital doesn't tell you the gender at the 20 week scan so I paid private at Babybond.

I have one booked in couple weeks for when ile be 16 weeks as i also cant wait to find out gender! Having read some of the above posts though im wondering if i should just wait for twenty week scan. I had 4d scansvwith my two dcs but at much later stages and it was lovely but if im not guarenteed to find out sex and the baby also doesnt look much to see i am not seeing a point now!

Peace, with both of my DC's the lady doing the scan wasn't 100% so both times I was invited back at 18 weeks free of charge.

I went to take a peek in st Helen's yesterday I was 16 weeks and it was amazing, very clear could see her moving about sucking her thumb etc. Ours was completely in 4D and was brill for only £65 would recommend to anyone
