Never ever thought I would be on Mumsnet asking this question, I've never been very maternal and didnt think I'd really ever have a baby (I'm 27)... quick background check, I'm not trying to conceive or planning a baby so I don't know what all the initials stand for... not a clue.

From the little research I've done, my last period started on Monday 26th August, the period before that started on Saturday 26th July (I think this means I have a 30 day cycle?!) Anyway, on Sunday 8th September, my partner had a slight timing issue shall we say, and I'm not sure if this means I could be pregnant... I'm so confused by all of this ovulation stages and cycle lengths etc.

What do you mums think, am I reading too much into it? I know it sounds crazy but yesterday I could have sworn I was coming on my period, I had cramping in my stomach all day but I know it's only been a couple of weeks since my last period... but I feel so bloated and yuk today (wind and a painful stomach)... although I do realise I could just be coming down with something.....

I'm just worrying that I'm over thinking this and that the chances of a one of like the above would be slim.

Hi igloo, you know the old addage 'it only takes once'! Well its so true. My partner had a timing issue just the one time in the month i got pregnant with this baby (third one) and im now 14 weeks.
All i know is you usually ovulate around 14 days before next period is due so work it out that way and if u dtd around then, bingo!
I had the crampy period type pains in early days of all my pregnancies so that would tie in with what youre saying.
Give it a week or two and take a test, hope you get the outcome you want.

Well it means you had the timing issue on day 14 of your cycle which would generally be a fertile day.
You wouldn't have any real symptoms yet though so don't worry about any tummy pains etc.
so the likelihood of conception even on a fertile day is about 15-20% so it's still unlikely that you conceived. I guess you just have to wait till a few days before your next period is due to test though. Xx
