NHS and Private shared care - Lindo Wing any experience?

Hello
My in laws have offered me the Lindo Wing at St Marys for the labour - its what they did for their daughter who had two children there. At first I didnt think it was necessary or possible as I thought me and my husband would end up paying more in the antenatal care extras along the way for private midwives aps etc. So I have registered at St Marys (my local hospital) however after 2 weeks suffering hyperemisis and being admitted to the ward twice, 2/3 days at a time for severe dehydration, not eating or drinking for days on end I am struggling to see why I would turn this very generous gift down. I am 9 weeks and today I went there for my booking in appointment at 11am I was seen at 1.15pm!! Unbelievable.

I read that as soon as you tell the NHS you are going private they will cut your care and no longer offer you scans etc. Sounds severe.
So to cut to the chase - does anyone have any experience of doing both and is it possible?
Thank you so much in advance.

no direct experience, but I work on a ward at a nhs maternity hospital, some mums have private c sections, they are treated exactly the same as every body else on the ward, I cant think for a minute that they would cut your care you are after all saving the nhs money with your choices.

I hope you feel better soon.
