3rd trimester movement - owwww! Is it just me?!

I'm 30 weeks with DC2 and this time around finding the baby's movement really painful. The movements make me gasp and at night I can't sleep from all the kick kick kicking.

It doesn't help that my first pregnancy was very easy and baby was much less all over the place. mW says this time uterus is stretched so there is more room for baby to move around in. Initially I thought it was my age (44) but maybe not.

Is it just me? Are others feeling the same? If so how do you cope?

No not just you! I'm 27+5 so only just in the third trimester (this is baby 1) and my baby moves constantly all day and night (or at least it feels constant!) and I do find some of the movements painful e.g. when baby is kicking/poking my ribs or just doing big kicks/pokes Smile

I also find it wakes me up and sometimes sit up propped up on pillows so I don't get angry poking in my sides when trying to sleep Smile - makes for a fun day at work the day after!

Don't think it's an age thing as I'm only 26. I've often wondered whether it's because I'm very slight in build (usually size 6/8) but not sure about that?

Where is your placenta? Mine's at the back so I feel lots Smile x

Not just you.

I console myself that a strong baby is a thing to be heartily wished for.

Ow.

I'm 32+1 and the same here, on Friday night my baby spent a good hour stretching, kicking, poking and wedging its feet under my ribs. The movements were all painful and make me jump, grunt. I tried begging it to stop and swearing! Nothing helped but it did settle down eventually.
I'm 31 and this is my first, it's always been very active but as it's got bigger its become really uncomfortable
The joys of pregnancy eh??

Yep, my third and a real wriggler. Wedges his bottom right at the top of the bump when I am upright. Lying on my sidehhelps but sometimes when I am standing I get a punch in the bladder. Ow.

Same here! I'm 30+1 and on Friday night the little tike started some very strange movements that made me have a sharp intake of breath and/or give a shout! Its really hard to describe, it doesnt feel like kicking, more movements from side to side and very down low.
