Baby breech at 38 weeks, does this mean the end of my home birth?

Just been told baby is breech today, scan had confirmed. 2 weeks ago mw wasn't sure but thought head down.

I've got severe SPD and am on crutches, and this just feels like another kick in the teeth.

I can't stop crying.

C section has been booked for 40 +5. So that'll mean 3 weeks of agonising SPD followed by the pain of major surgery. It just seems the worst of everything.

Can I hear some happy stories please? Doctor tried to turn baby earlier and I nearly passed out. She failed and now I feel bruised and battered as well as miserable.

Help!

Thank you for all the help and advice. I spent a long time in the birth pool, with frozen peas and a flash light, with dd telling baby off, and this morning my moxa sticks arrived...

So... Appointment with consultant today... And she's turned! :) I don't know what did it and it must have been a stealth flip in the middle of the night because I didn't notice any big movement.

Whoo hoooo Grin

Now just try and keep her there, no inversions, make sure you don't sit back too much (use birth ball to sit if you can) so she doesn't end up Back to back.

Yay!

I've spent the day on the birth ball trying to get her well and truly engaged Grin
