Breastfeeding new baby and toddler?

I am just curious, have any of you thought about offering breast milk to your toddler, after stopping because you were pregnant with second?

I stopped when I was two months pregnant and returned full time to work. I was exhausted and daughter was 13 months. However, I feel like cows milk never really agrees with her. She constantly has runny nose when drinking it. I've tried short term (a few days after being ill) switching cows milk to oat milk and of course her runny nose stopped. And when I say runny nose, I mean CONSTANT, all day, even if I wipe 20 times a day, she constantly has a stream of mucous coming out! She didn't have this when I breast fed. I don't make a complete switch to oat milk bc I read the alternatives to dairy don't have the right nutrients etc. Anyway, I'm considering pumping extra breast milk for my first, that is if I have extra. First time around I had a lot...I assume it will be the same? But I know it could be different.

Anyway, just curious if anyone else has thought about offering breast milk again to older child?

I don't see why not. I'm currently feeding two so slightly different, but there is plenty of evidence that bm is good for little ones so I'd give it a go!

sorry I have no idea if that makes sense but I'm saying why not give it a try and see if that improves matters for her.

DS stopped bf at 2yrs when I was pg with his sister. A handful of times after DD was born I did pump and offer the EBM to DS (was comforting when he was ill).

If you're happy to express, then it's fine. It certainly won't do your oldest any harm and it might do some good.

Just to people definitely do feed baby and toddler. My DS is still 'breastfeeding' through my current pg, even though there is currently no milk or colostrum, I don't plan to stop him. I'm sure there are some tandem feeders on mumsnet. Looking like I'll be one of them in a few months
