When did you pack your hospital bag?

Out of interest? I keep reading about people having packed their bag by 32 weeks. Fully understand if you're high risk etc that you need to be ready earlier. But if you're low risk when realistically do you need to have it packed by? This is DC2 so you'd think I'd remember!

I've seen posters say they've packed their bag in the 20 something weeks.

I think what ever your risk if packing a bag would make you feel reassured then pack it!

I'm only 19 weeks and bought a couple of mini travel size bits that were on offer in Tesco a couple of days ago, deodorant and face wipes etc., ready for my bag.

(haven't got an actual bag to put them in yet though)

I am also 32 weeks and been wondering the same thing this is dc3 but I cant remember either might just do it to be on the safe side I am not the most organised person at the best of times so there is bound to be something I have forgotten xx

I started making lists and a small pile at about 28 weeks, but actual bag(s) only really ready now (38 weeks!) and I still have a few bits to add.

Wish I started sooner, because was making me nervous, but needed time to gather bits and get my head around stuff (like difference between vests and baby gros etc).

i never packed my bag till about 36-37 weeks last time i dont intend to do it again untill around the same stage i think its down to prefrence im on dc3 and just cant be bothered to pack it to early im 30 wks tomorrow

At 32 Weeks when I was told I could go any day...40 Weeks and still waiting...
I have repacked though as I had tiny baby clothes and now we're expecting a large baby

I packed mine the other day and I'm only 28 weeks, this is my 4th pregnancy and usually wait until later but the other night I was feeling awful and had terrible bellyache and I started thinking that if I had to go into hospital suddenly then relying on DH to bring in things I need wouldn't be good lol. I've still got a few wee things to add but at least I know I've got proper pants and nighties sorted.

that's what I am thinking as I have this strong feeling in my bones that this dc is going to come early even though my dd and ds was 3 and 5 days late just cant get the fact this one is gonna be early out of my head and worrying now that my bag wont be ready x

I started packing mainly snacks in mine last week when I was 32 weeks. Still some bits to add but it's just given me some peace of mind and it's something else I can now tick off my list.

I guess you just never know when the baby will decide to make an appearance, I just still haven't found my camera charger though...!

For both babies I wish I had packed LOTS of snacks and drinks. But particularly dd2 when I didn't and was starving post labour when midwives too busy to get me anything to eat or drink until the next morning (gave birth just after 5pm). DH had to go to 24 hour tesco!

Despite forgetting snacks I was mega organised and took wrapped boxes of chocs to give to the midwives, nurse on ward....saved DH doing another Tesco dash.

If I had to pack again I would take much more make up to avoid looking a pasty faced old hag in all the photos which get shown endlessly by your DH to all his work colleagues. Shudder.

I think I'd bought all my bits by about 36 weeks, but actually packed it in one bag on the due date, after coming back from a Christmas market, lunch and long walk in the beach.
DS didn't arrive until 40+12, I went in to be induced but DS started off himself when we got there, perhaps he could feel my stress!
I didn't pack much and there wasn't anything missing or lacking, and I was in hospital for 4 nights.

I've started mine already, I'm 30 weeks. Still got more to pack but I anticipate it being packed and ready by about 34 weeks.

My second child was born at 26wks, so usually I pack at around 25wks or so loosely, but adding smaller stuff in until it's complete a few weeks later, which has worked well for the other three pregnancies.

I'm 33 weeks and haven't packed yet because the simple idea makes me feel very anxious. I know I should do it soon though!

nearly done mine, 26 weeks now (early last time though) I have been buying bits I have seen on offer. 3 for 2 on pads at Boots now so its worth getting when I see it. Good reminder about snacks.

I haven't packed mine yet and I'm 30 weeks with DC2. I think I'll do it around 32 weeks. I've got most stuff to go in and we are ten mins' walk from the hospital though so fingers crossed it wouldn't be a problem if baby came early.

Now, DH's plan that I walk to the hospital rather than us driving - that needs a bit of work!

Dc1: 33 weeks. My bag included a soothing lavender mister, some arnica cream, a variety of organic snacks and a DVD box set in case I got 'bored' whilst in labour.

Dc2: packed bag at 39+1 whilst in labour. Took a large packet of salt and vinegar crisps and my birth plan which said 'I intend to have an epidural' in bold and underlined.

I'm 33 weeks & packed my bag this week after we had a little scare (everything is fine) & had to go in to the hospital on the weekend.

The only problem is I'm still using some of the stuff I'd like to pack so I've got a little list on my mobile with stuff I need to remember to chuck in. I just feel a bit better knowing its done even if its not 100% there. This is our first though so I'm probably doing everything too soon!

38+2 here and nothing packed and fuck all bought. :O only because we are about to move into our own house, which has been getting work done and was supposed to be finished weeks ago but theres been delay after delay so im currently sleeping in pils spare room which is tiny and anything ive bought for house/baby is packed up so cant see what ive got. i get paid next week so there will be a massive spree then. and hoping i now go overdue so that me and dp cant get some time to ourselves before baby appears. havent had a shag in months!!

I think I'm going to go for the laid back 38+ weeks approach. We've done nothing to prepare for this baby other than get pregnant! Quite possibly in denial about the whole thing!

35+3 and haven't packed anything yet, oh and am high risk too! Think I might get cracking this weekend...

I'm 30 weeks on Friday and haven't even thought about packing anything yet. I've got babygrows and first clothes bought and ready though. I cba this time.

Never! ( well not for DD 1) she came at 36 weeks, nothing in bag at all!

Started mine today @36 weeks - I've had really strong bh last couple of days - baby is banned from appearing till September though ( good for school age and my maternity pay) but I'm so convinced ill go over I've not done anything really yet ( ds1 was 40+16 induced,ds2 was 40+14 naturally ) - I thought I'd chuck the stuff I've got in a bag then ill know what I need to get- so mine is started but bit finished ds3 has nappies and outfits but not much else !

I packed it at 26 weeks - was having problems with anxiety and the mw suggested it would help allay some of my worrie to get ready.
