Weight gain and SPD/PGP

So depressed :(

Got on the scales for the first time in months at PIL's (our scales are in storage and have been since before easter as we are in "temporary" accommodation...)

12st 4!! And according to all the online calculators that's about 7lb heavier than I should be (max!) at 31 weeks....

I thought I had actually not done too badly - I certainly thought I was looking smaller than last time.

But I can't exercise or do too much due to SPD/PGP - it's all I can do to keep up with DD (2yo) - and even so she can move much faster than me now!

With her, I was on crutches - have managed to avoid that this time by keeping moving but much, much slower.

Would it be reasonable to sort of eat less now so I don't put ANY more weight on? Or just accept I'm going to be very large afterwards? (Wasn't exactly lightweight before pregnancy - but this is 2 stone I've put on!)

Hi. My gain was similar and really slowed towards the end. I also had SPD. Tbh I'm not sure how possible it is to control weight in pregnancy - I think your body basically puts on what it needs, and everyone is different. 2 stone at your stage seems pretty normal to me although I imagine it is above the guidelines. I think you should give yourself a break and try not to waste time worrying about it - after the birth you will hopefully be far more active again.

I thought I had been eating healthily though :( And certainly not a lot as I've had horrible heartburn...

Ah well.... I'm sure I'll lose it after the birth by breastfeeding 2!
