A little advice would be appreciated from one and all.
I'm currently a student midwife, and I'm due to finish my course in three weeks' time. I have an interview on Tuesday for a position in the local trust, which is where I'd really like to work, and there's a fairly good chance I'll be offered a position.
My problem is that I'm currently 4 weeks pregnant. This was a surprise although not a mistake, we've been trying for a long time due to polycystic ovaries, and I'm both shocked and delighted that I'm pg. I had a mmc last year and am not at all sure that this pregnancy will be successful so am stressing over that as well.
What would you do? Tell them at the interview? Tell them if/when they offer me a job? Or not tell them until I start? Midwifery jobs are hard to come by and by taking myself out of the race for a year immediately after qualifying I would be significantly damaging my chances of employment in future. I trained in this trust and know all the midwives well, and I know I'm a good candidate for the job; but morally I feel it's a bit objectionable not to tell them.
Help!
