Talk to me about evaporation lines

For some unknown reason I POAS the other day. Been feeling sicky for a few days, tired and just wrong. Anyway, this morning, a line appeared in the test window immediately as the wee was traveling up the stick (sorry). Went when the control line appeared. Now I can see something a bit grey and shadowy in the test window. Did the test this morning (Tesco cheapy)

Please God tell me this is an evaporation line. We've not had unprotected sex and although we do want another DC we don't want one now. Had af at an odd time on holiday - cycle always affected by travel - so no idea where in my cycle I currently am.

its hard to say can you post a photo?

manchestermummy · 15/08/2013 18:53

Whatever I was seeing appears to have gone, which is quite a relief. Still feeling sicky today though.

Can't tell DH. He would freak out then tell me I was being crazy!

It does sound like an evaporation line if it's grey, is the control line purple? I'd maybe try a digital test to find out for sure and so you can decide what to do about it. Good luck for a negative! x

The plan is to buy a digital test after pay day. One reason a DC3 isn't in the plan at the mo.

It HAS to be negative.

Bought a Clear Blue non digital this morning and it was definitely negative. Phew! That said, still feeling sicky on a daily basis. Cured by eating. Exactly like my morning sickness in my other pregnancies. AF possibly due in a week so will test again it it doesn't show.

'Fessed up to DH as we don't keep anything from each other. He laughed hysterically and admitted he would quite like idea of 'beating' contraception Hmm.

So who knows. Hopefully the sickly feeling is down to stress.

If you use another cheapy try to get one with red / punk dye as they don't do the evap line so much

Also loads and load of test pics on fertility friend website. People me do daily tests and then load a pic of them all lined up so you can see the line gradually darken ( if pg obvs)

Hope you get the right result for you and your family. Flowers

Punk? - pink!

Cheap one again this morning. Either an evaporation line again or a v v v v faint line.

I will attempt to not test for the rest of the weekend.

DH meanwhile still going on about the possibility of having super sperm Hmm.

My dd was conceived with "super sperm", I never missed a single pill and yet one of the little guys got in!

Writerwannabe83 · 17/08/2013 17:15

You remind me of myself Manchester - the complete inability to stop POAS!! Grin Grin

My Husband also thinks he has super sperm Grin

manchestermummy · 17/08/2013 18:24

I was about 6mo pg with one of them and really wanted to POAS Hmm Hmm.

I have POAS about 7 times since my initial BFP. It makes me feel so happy when I see that 2nd line Grin

coffeewineandchocolate · 17/08/2013 21:40

If your period is not due until next week it may be too early to test

manchestermummy · 17/08/2013 21:46

Yes, I know I am being completely batty....

OP posts:
Writerwannabe83 · 17/08/2013 21:51

I was completely batty. I was testing up to twice a day (maybe 3 times on a really crazy day) for the entire week before my period was due. I couldn't stop myself, I was so desperate to get that second line!!
