Hey ladies,

Sorry if this is TMI for any of you but I've decided to go for a Hollywood bikini wax in the run up to my labour. I had my 1st today and it was incredibly painful. I've had them in the past and they're not exactly pain-free but this was horrendous. I bled a little and I'm now quite swollen down there.

I'm wondering if I'm more sensitive because I'm pregnant? Does anyone have experience of this and any advice for my next one? Thks...

Yes you will be more sensitive. I think you're flipping crazy to have another when you may well be swollen down there by then. But that's just me. Best of luck!!

Why?!!!!! Don't have another

HAHA! You are a brave lady. I'm wondering that once I get that far I may not care if it's a half acre of bracken!

Er... way too much pain for the sake of a midwife who has seen it all before... be kind to yourself... don't get another Grin

Ha ha! You're totally right...I don't have to have it done again, do I? Lesson learnt!

I have mine done regularly and have done for years so I guess I'm used to it now. But there are times when it can be more sensitive than others and I will not have it done closer to EDD if its becoming unbearable. I shall send my OH down there to tidy instead! Grin

After yesterdays lady topiary disaster I would certainly recommend seeking some assistance with any fuzz removal. I couldn't see past my bump and even with a mirror have ended up with a patchy rug Blush

you are sooooo brave if you have another!

I have been having hollywood regularly for a while, tried to have one when I was about 6 months pregnant - ended up bleeding bruised and patchy, cos I couldn't see it through to the end (such a wuss, how I'm going to get through labour is beyond me!)

Currently look like a bloody gorilla and hate it, but I just couldn't face the pain!!!

I only had this done once - just before my wedding. Found it the most humiliating and unbelievably painful experience ever! Decided there and then that au naturel is the better option - just feels too much like subjugation.. too much to go through for someone else's benefit!
