Are braxton hicks supposed to be this strong with third pregnancy?

I've been getting 10-15 braxton hicks contractions everyday for the past month now. I'm almost 28wks.

I'm finding that I have to breathe through them like I'm in labour and they come on when I get slightly panicked or anxious about something. They also come on when I need the loo. They don't hurt, just feel like a horrible tightening like there's a rock in my stomach.

Is this normal? I never had them with dc1 and very randomly with dc2.

im 27 wks with dc3 and I get a lot too and they are very uncomfortable but then I did get them in both of my previous pregnancies and I think that's just what they, are Braxton hicks as they are not actually painful but if you are really worried, you should ask your midwife.

My midwife told me today that you feel them more with each pregnancy. I find them uncomfortable too, they come on when I am doing stuff.

With my second pg (this is my third) the baby was back to back until about ten days before due date and the braxton hicks were agony for a couple of weeks before this point. It felt like someone was pinching hard up into my stomach. When the baby moved they just felt uncomforable again.

I got them for the first time with DC2, but they were much stronger (ouchy) and pretty regular with DC3. Now on DC4 and pretty much thought I was going into labour the other night at 17 weeks with the strength and regularity. I think your uterus is just more 'warmed up' with each subsequent DC.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Humphrey, I suppose that is reassuring. They have got worse for me with each pregnancy. It's just weird how tight it gets and having to breathe through them to make them go away!

Just had another one in bed with baby kicking at the same time!
