Early PG do I go to my doctors?

Hi I'm about 2-3 weeks PG so from my last period I should be 5 weeks PG I phoned my doctors yesterday and said I'm pregnant should I make an appointment with my doctors the lady give me a number for an early bird clinic. So just phoned that and the sent me along another few numbers. Then the lady said I need to see my doctor first What the hell!! Should I just make and appointment with the doctor after all that ! They make you feel like your in-convening them

Depends where you live, different places do it differently. I can refer straight to the midwives, but I know others on here have to see the dr first.

I went to my GP when I was about 5 weeks pregnant - she referred me to the midwives at my local hospital (had a choice of 3) and I got a letter in the post a week or so later with a booking in appointment (was about 8/9 weeks) and my 12 week scan appointment. I am in central London. I have heard some places you do self refer to the hospital/midwives though. Id call your GP surgery to check their procedure. Congratulations by the way!

Sorry I see you have spoke to them! Make an appointment with your gp then - they will tell you what to do next, even if you are only in there 5 mins! the next appointments you have will be better/more thorough as you get further along!

We can go straight to midwife...however I went to my doctor add the night before she'd told me I wouldn't get pregnant without assistance after test results. I asked to do a pregnancy test as I'd thought my period should have started that day but she refused. Went back the next day with my home test and she wouldn't take my word and made me do another. I'm due next week...

Thanks ladies I will try an make an appointment with my doctor tomorrow phoned up today and there computers were down so couldn't book an appointment. What ever happen to a pen and a diary lol
