Accuracy of growth scans?

I had a growth scan at 31 weeks today and was given an approx weight of 6lb 3oz. The last growth scan at 28 weeks estimated approx 3lb 4oz. Both times the sonographer made a point of saying there was around an 11% margin of error, either way.

I have gestational diabetes and have also previously had big or biggish babies, my second was the biggest, 10lb when born at 38 weeks. Growth scans with my other children were pretty accurate, especially the first two, where they worked out the weight based on head circumference, femur length and abdominal circumference. However, today's scan worked out the weight by abdominal circumference only, which, along with the fact that 1lb weight gain a week since 28 weeks seems unlikely, makes me sceptical about the results.

I know growth scans are notoriously innacurate, but I was wondering if anyone else had had one around this or similar gestation and what weight it estimated, then what birthweight your baby was please?
