Nervous newbie: Anyone else got their BFP and panicking already?!

Got my first ever BFP this morning and started my day absolutely thrilled, ending it rather terrified! When will I start to get sick? What if it doesn't stick? And how the heck do I stop myself blurting out to every man & his dog that I'm pregnant?!
Any other nervous first timers out there? Smile

Another very nervous first timer here too! I got my BFP yesterday morning and since then have done 5 tests (all BFP). I've finally got it into my head that 5 tests can't be wrong but now I've started to worry, very similar worries to you but I guess it's only natural to worry! I am going to book an appointment at the doctors tomorrow and hopefully he'll be able to tell me where to start. 12 weeks seems an awful long time to wait for a scan though! How far along are you Nessalina?

Hi Ladies,

I got my BFP 3 weeks ago (first baby) and I'm a nervous wreck. Since finding out I was pregnant I have taken another 7ish pregnancy tests just for reassurance and yet I still worry constantly about miscarriage. Some days I have horrendous pregnancy symptoms and then other days I'm absolutely fine.....and it is when I'm feeling fine that I start panicking that I'm no longer pregnant. I have done nothing but think the worst for the last 3 weeks!!

I've got a scan on Wednesday (we have paid privately for it) because me and Hubby need to physically see something inside me for us to really believe that everything is going ok Smile

I'm nervous but excited Smile

I got mine last weds, am 5+1 today. Im a born worrier, discovering im pregnant was a bit of a shock, we hoped to try early next year. Since then all I have done is worry about something going wrong. I've no reason to think anything will, but I just cant help myself. Feeling out of control is something im obviously going to have to get used to!!

nessa the nerves dont disappear unfortunately! I am a first timer and am now 18 weeks and going strong (i hope). Am now in the wait for the 20 week scan and it really feels like one long wait after another, but there are lots of exciting times too.
As a first timer i have found the antenatal boards amazing. There is probably a thread already going for the month you are due so you can share and learn with others at the same stage.
Its great to post a worry or exciting experience on there and the whole group will jump aboard and give you their thoughts. I cant tell you how much reassurance some of the more experienced ladies have given me.

Best of luck to all of you and hope you have very sticky beans. Try not to think the worst (easier said than done i know) but the percentages are in your favour so stay positive! X

Hi, I got mine on Saturday, and am also a bit scared! Took a First Response test 3 days before I was due & the 2 lines appeared pretty much straight away. This was our first month of trying, so wasn't really expecting anything that soon. I'm almost too scared to take another one in case the first one was faulty! Going to the doctors next Monday so going to try to resist testing again until then!

greentshirt · 12/08/2013 22:08

Yes there's an April thread in Antenatal clubs and a stats thread so we all know when everyones due etc. Come and join us, there's lots of nervous chat going on lol
