I had my 20 week scan this week - it's my third DC but my first pregnancy in the UK as I was living abroad for some years previously.
I was amazed at how much detail this 20 week scan went into - things I had never been told at my previous 20 week scans. One of those details was the position of the placenta. This time I was told it is left lateral.
Because I had never heard so much information before I didn't think to ask anything about this in my haze! I have googled but can't find out if this means anything apart from that it is more common to be left lateral if you're having a girl! Does or can it mean something else? There was no other information- just left lateral.
I have no idea of sex as I have to go back for another scan in two weeks. Baby wasn't playing ball and was upside down the whole time, which made it impossible to check every last thing!
Thanks for any info - gratefully received!
