I'm nearly 36wks and my veins are very noticeable and some are puffy (though I'm grateful that none appear to have reached full "varicose" status yet).

If this happened to you in pregnancy did they go back to normal after the birth? And if so how long did it take?

Thanks.

Hi, my veins returned to normal fairly soon after giving birth, maybe a couple of weeks, although my second pregnancy left me with a proper varicose one on my right leg. Probably cos I grew massive when I was carrying and was quite old both times (34 and 37). Everyone's different though - it will depend on your age, fitness levels, genetics, weight, how much time you spend on your feet, whether you smoke or have in the past etc. If it's your first baby hopefully you can spend plenty of time with your feet up in the first few weeks while you feed your baby to help with the puffiness and take plenty of walks to get your circulation going. Hope that helps!
