Just how much more are my bloody boobs going to grow exactly?

I am 31 weeks pregnant. According to the lovely ladies on the bra intervention thread, I am currently a 34G . I was (pre-intervention and pre-pregnancy) wearing at 36A, but I suspect that I was more like a 34C.

I have two concerns about this:

1 It's getting difficult to get bras that fit according to the proper measurements and my new enorma-boobs are getting in the effing way. I keep having to empty out my cleavage of crumbs, bits of the garden, lost children etc.

2 If they're going to get even more mahoosive, just how much more mahoosive will they get exactly? Am I going to actually need scaffolding to support them? It's going to cost an absolute fortune, isn't it?

You have my sympathies - I started out with B cups and like you ended up a G. For those who have always coveted larger bosoms, it must be great, but that wasn't me. If it helps, I went back to a c cup post DC1, then on to a D cup post DC2. I'm preggers with DC3 and am hoping that I'll stay a D cup afterwards, but I'm making my way up the cup sizes as the pregnancy progresses. I get a shock when I look down and see these enormous knockers. I can relate to the crumbs, but the worst bit is sweaty boobs cos of the hot weather!

Thanks And. According to one of my friends, they've always thought of me as having quite big boobs (as opposed to my perception that they were average size but awesome ) so maybe they haven't really grown as much as I thought, and I was waaaay off in a 36A!

When you say you "went back to" a c cup, was that after your milk had come in or when you stopped breastfeeding/your milk had gone? Apologies for that clunky question, I'm trying to think of a way of phrasing that so that it doesn't sound judgy about your decision on BF or FF...

I used M&S plain underwired cotton bras when pregnant and bfing (I went up to a 36G from a 34DD). Just make sure the wire lies flat against your ribs. If they're really huge and you're planning to bf don't buy any bras until your milk has come in, I spent over £70 on two nursing bras that then didn't fit as mine stayed the same size (yes I'm still bitter). When you stop bfing (or never start) they kind of deflate overnight, it's very weird!

Ugh, I'd gone up to 36G from a DD when I was last fitted 3 weeks ago but those bras are already feeling rather constricting and I've still got 18 weeks to go, then hopefully BF. My boobs are going to be hanging around my knees before this is over sobs
I think we had all best take out shares in scaffolding firms!

Hi comtesse - glad you asked! I went back to a C cup after I'd finished BF and finally settled on a D cup after BF DC2. Did get a bit porkier tho after DC2 (got addicted to big bags of fruit pastilles). Just to prepare you, I did get a bit of a shock after finishing BF DC1 as the knockers went like envelopes so a while. I think they were exhausted as they did seem to perk up a bit after a bit of a rest from all that milk dispensing.

Sob. And dare I ask what size you went up to when you were BF?

I used to say that my boobs were my best bit but, in truth, they were the only good bit

I've already got stretch marks on them - I could have coped with them on my stomach, but no, they had to go on my boobs.

Hi this is my first pregnancy and mine went up from a 34dd to a 36f in the first trimester! After going to M&S and finding nothing fitted me properly, and wasn't cheap, I have discovered 2 sources of cheaper bras!

1. Primark. Really. They have larger sizes (you have to root around for the "big" section.)
2. Lovebras website. Hurrah! Cheaper bras and swimsuits if you look in the clearance section.

The M&S lady said if I wear underwiring it could damage the milk-duct development, but I just can't support these behemoths without the wires. Do you think the milk-duct thing is true? Am I doing some terrible thing which will prevent me breast-feeding?

I share your pain. I am normally a 36J but have gone to a 40K so far. Last time I went up to a L cup after my milk came in and there was just no getting comfortable with that size!

I sympathise. I'm currently wearing 32H while breastfeeding. Usually, I'm 32DD which is bad enough to get properly fitting bras.

To be honest, I threw money at the issue. It's vital to have properly fitting bras while pregnant and breastfeeding to support you. I'm in London and went to Rigby& Peller to get properly fitted. Was worth it, but pretty pricy. I think they're only in London, but Bravissimo is also v good.

I'm usually a 34H but wearing 34JJ now - I'm 20 weeks, but I fear it's not going to stop there. Next step 34K :o
