Mid pregnancy stomach cramps?

Do/Did any of you have mid pregnancy stomach cramps?

I'm 17 weeks and on and off every few days I get 12 hour long stomach aches, they feel basically like I have severe diarrhoea (which I don't have!). Is this normal or something I should ring the midwife about? I was crying earlier on because of the pain - the only thing that relieves the pain a bit is sitting on a gym ball.

Sounds like trapped wind - I suffer with that during pregnancy and honestly its nearly as bad as labour!! Get in touch with the midwife to put your mind at ease, but that is exactly what I experienced and was told it was trapped wind then I had the worst wind ever and it went away for a month or 2

Hi, I'm a little further along, 23 weeks today but for the last 2 days have had really bad cramps just like you've described. Called the triage at the hospital yesterday and the midwife said it didn't sound like anything to worry about and just advised a soak in the bath and paracetamol.

Its definitely worse after walking around, am wondering if its everything getting a bit stretched, its also really sore if I take a really deep breath in. Think if it doesnt ease off by tomorrow will make an appointment at the docs.

Pregnancy yoga DVD helped a bit, and drinking a can of coke really quickly helped release some of it Blush

Alice, I put a thread up yesterday about my bad stomach cramps. I'm nearly 17 weeks and the pain was coming and going for a few days. It really worried me but I think mine was either stretching pains or trapped wind. Today I'm fine thank god but you do have my sympathy as it really really hurt.
I relaxed last night and kept rubbing my tum, had an early night and today i've been fine. Hope it eases for u too, I also took a rennie deflatine before I went to bed so whether that helped I don't know.
Hope u feel better but it seems to be fairly normal for our stage of pregnancy xx
