Brown spottin/discharge in early pregnancy

Hi, I was just after some advice as I am just over 5 weeks pregnant with DC2 and did not experience this with DC1.

Today I have had some darkish brown discharge, seems to ahve stopped now but I am a little concerned, is this normal? It's not a great deal at all, the 'stain' is probably half an inch long and 1cm wide if that makes sense (Sorry for TMI) and barely soaked through to the outer side of my underwear.

Have had no pain, and still feeling queasy as I have done for the last 2 weeks ish.

Brown blood is usually considered to be old blood and thus not too much to worry about, I think (but I am not a doctor).

If it reassures you through my first pregnancy I spotted for about 15 weeks, usually just some blood on the tissue but occasionally some spots on my underwear. My son is now a very health 2.11 year old and on the whole ended up with a healthy pregnancy despite all the worry the spotting caused!

Unfortunately at this early stage it's difficult to know but spotting can be quite normal so fingers crossed for you.

Thank you, that helps to reassure me. Have had nothing since that, so I am hoping that is it!

I had a lot of spotting (sometimes quite red) to about 13 weeks. Currently 30 weeks and all going well.

I did have a private scan at 9 weeks as I was very worried so do what you need to do to put your mind at rest.

Congratulations.

I had brown/pink spotting at 6 weeks (no pain) so I was sent for a scan at EPAU and everything was fine. They also asked me to go back at 8 weeks to check everything was still ok. Maybe give them a call and see if you can have a scan to put your mind at rest? I'm sure everything's ok, spotting is more common than you'd think.
