Suspected Urine infection

Hi ladies , I am not sure but I think I might have a urine infection as I have a very mild burn sensation when I go to do pass urine.
I'm not seeing the midwife until another 10 days . It's Friday so the docs are shut till Monday . However , I'm going to the hospital for a scan on Wednesday . Would I be able to give the hospital a urine sample when I'm there on wed or shall I try if the doc or midwife would see me Monday ? I don't want this to get worse . I am not sure what to do ?

Deff try to get this sorted ASAP. If untreated can be bad for you and the baby. I've had these on and off throughout my pregnancy and they made me feel really horrible. And brought on braxton hicks. Antibiotics sort them out.

I would get this sorted before Wednesday - PP is right about the braxton hicks.

Does your hospital have an antenatal daycare unit? The kind of place you'd go if you hadn't felt the baby move ... Call them and they ought to invite you in to dip your wee.

Gp visit on Monday morning. Possibly even out of hours doctor before then if you are very uncomfortable.

You will need antibiotics.

I suffer with severe recurrent uti infections and took daily antibiotics throughout both my pregnancies and was prescribed more than I needed so I could up the dose as necessary. All was well.

I had a scan yday and a routine urine test showed I had an infection and I didn't even realise, so yes the scan people will prob pick it up and give a prescription to u. However I had one pre-pregnancy and ignored it, went out drinking and ended up in a&e bleeding and in a lot of pain. Keep hydrated and ring the out of hours Dr tonight because if it really takes hold it will be hell. It sucks I know. I blame the heat. Hope u feel better Thanks

Really important to get this sorted out. I had one and had no idea. I had severe headaches and vomiting and put off going to doctors as thought it was my awful sickness coming back after a couple of months. Worried dh made me go and turns out it was urinary infection making me that ill. I had pains but didn't realise what they were (lots of new pains hard to know what's what!) doctor said it was important that it's treated as it can trigger early labour.

Get this sorted asap, you won't be wasting anyone's time. See if you can see someone this evening or tomorrow - tell them you are pregnant and it will be treated as a priority.

I had one a few months ago - went to the GP at the first signs, they dipped my wee which showed infection and gave me antibiotics that day. (After the appointment they tested my urine to check that the strain of antibiotics they had prescribed would work).

Thank u everybody . I will try and ring the community midwife tomorrow if they are open . Or try find a walk in centre ... Don't you hate being sick on weekends ?

If you ring your GP's number, they should have a recorded message for how to get Out of Hours care. Failing that, NHS Direct can organise it. Then ring Out of Hours or NHS Direct and tell them you are pg and have a UTI, and they will get you an OOH gp apptm. I speak from experience!
