That worrying time between the 12 week scan and developing a bump/hearing the heartbeat.

This is my 2nd pregnancy, I should know better but I'm really stressing about this.

I'm 14 weeks today. The 12 week scan was 2 weeks ago and all was peachy fine then but I simply cannot get rid of this feeling of doom.

My morning sickness is 98% gone, I've had no bleeding or anything to make me suspect something is wrong.

Surely with a second baby, I should be developing a bump now or feel flutters??? I had a small bump with DD at 16 weeks and had also felt her move by then. Luckily, I have a midwife appointment in 5 days and hope that she will be able to put my mind at rest and maybe find the heartbeat.

Is anyone else in these annoying inbetween weeks were nothing much is happening?

Not there now as I'm 22 weeks but I felt very similar at that time (this is my first).

My 12 week scan was perfect but then I felt better in terms of early symptoms going, didn't have a bump and couldn't feel baby. I also had a manic few weeks at work and even though we told people I still felt nervous and weird really.

So you're not alone! Hopefully your mw will listen for a hb when you see her? I saw mine just passed 14 weeks due to pelvic pain and she listened for me. Found it straight away and I felt much better after that (didn't stop me worrying though lol).

I'm sure everything's great and baby is just fine inside you Smile

I was wondering yesterday if the worrying ever ends? I feel my little baby moving around/kicking loads now but if it dares to have a rest I'm like 'what's happening?'

I think the answer to my question is 'No!'

Best of luck with your mw app and I hope she listens for you xx

I agree with Pmpkin, there's always something to worry about! Even thought it's my second, I was a wreck running up to 12 wk scan, which was all fine, then again for the combined screening results, the 16 wk midwife appointment and now for the 20 wk scan tomorrow- convinced each time that something would go wrong.

I was talking to my mum about it - apparently it never goes away, and even 35 years after having me she is still convinced somethgn will be wrong whenever i phone! The joys of being a parent.......
