How would you describe it? My mum says like a butterfly, but do people have other descriptions? If what I just felt is the baby (I'm 16weeks) then I would say it sounds like blood pumping really fast (and yes, I checked my pulse, the rhythms weren't the same!).

Share your descriptions :)

Popcorn popping in my belly!

Can't wait to feel it this time around. Been lying still for ages just focussing but I'm only 16 weeks.

Thought I remember the first v definite kick with dd and looking down to see what poked me... Then realised it was from inside me. Eek!

katrinaxx · 23/07/2013 23:21

im 17 weeks and ive been feeling the baby move since 15 weeks it sort of felt like a sweep across my stomach but yesterday and today I have had full kicks in the side baby also moves when I play lullabies xx

EmB1715 · 23/07/2013 23:27

Popping definitely! But I also get an odd feeling when she's just wiggling around and then the obvious full on kicks that you can see! Felt her properly for the first time at 18 weeks :)

Mine just felt like gas :/ now being pumelled by tiny fists and feet :)

PhieEl06 · 24/07/2013 00:28

First time I was actually sure it was a definite kick, strong enough for me to grab DP's hand & pull to my belly to feel another one that he felt too, that was at about 22 weeks but after I'd felt this I soon realised that what I'd been feeling for the previous 4 weeks (like you OP, blood rushing, pulsing, the way I could only describe it was palpitations in my tummy) was actually my baby moving. Now 4 days overdue & got to admit as excited as I am to meet my baby I am really going to miss watching my belly wriggle & seeing knees & feet poke out the side when she's having a stretch!

Bootyluscious · 24/07/2013 05:55

I'm 18 weeks now but think I've been feeling the baby since 16.5 weeks. No butterfly flutters for me but almost like a muscle spasm in my bikini line! I thought it was a random throbbing however it moved around each day & is harder sometimes than others so I'm sure it's kicks Smile almost like a jabbing feeling

quackojuliet · 24/07/2013 07:07

It feels like being tickled for me! Then I look down and see nothing is touching my tummy. Its very subtle and only notice it when I'm still, but I'm 16 weeks so must be baby. Amazing feeling!

andadietcoke · 24/07/2013 07:23

Mine felt like bubbles/palpitations and was stupidly early (didn't realise it was normal for twins to feel them earlier) so I ignored it for ages. Proper full blown kicks started at 20w.

purplemurple1 · 24/07/2013 08:58

Felt like being flicked from inside, (16weeks), from about 24 wks it changed to a wriggling feeling and the occasional kick, but I think generally he has been to cramped to kick much.

BumbleBeesGoBuzz · 24/07/2013 08:59

mine was like a pulse, or a buzzy vibration kind of feeling. it's more like popcorn now though. can definitely tell its wriggling around now

bellerous · 24/07/2013 15:52

Bubbles popping.

I first felt it at 16 weeks I'm now 19 weeks and I've started feeling every night when I've been in bed for about 20 mins.

I absolutely love it Smile

I agree with gas. Mine felt a lot like trapped air moving around my digestive system. Not the most elegant description but thats how it felt.

Now at 28 weeks I'm being constantly battered from the inside.
