Salami, Parma ham, chorizo?

I've been eating loads of these meats with salads recently. I've got gestational diabetes, so they're my 'treats'. The NHS website about food to avoid in pregnancy says some countries suggest avoiding due to the listeria risk, but the UK does not.

However, having just looked at the NHS page regarding toxoplasmosis, it says this can be contracted from these meats too.

So now I'm confused, should I avoid or not? How high/low is the risk of toxo from these meats? We do have a cat anyway, although I avoid changing the litter if I can.

Ps I've been hinting at DH for one of these from Pong

Belle - is that the right link?!

I've avoided cured meats but have been eating (lots of) cooked chorizo. It's just so yummy! Some of the guidelines are so complicated, and I don't eat a lot of cured meat anyway, so no loss here.

Really wish they could clear up the banned list!

Hahahaha Belle, did you post the right link there? Grin

Ha ha - wrong link! Totally different type of cheese! Ew!

I actually want one of these

Ooh yum! To be honest, I'd settle for a trickle of Cornish yarg. And some pâté.

And then a booking to a steak restaurant.

Just 12 more weeks!
