Never felt pain like it - piles (tmi)

I am 38+2 and yesterday with no real warning (wasn't constipated) 2 massive external piles fell out of my bum.

They are excruciating and all the ointments etc make no difference and in the dead of night I tried to push them back but they won't stay :-( GP said they'd start to get better in a day or so but can't help feel she is just saying that.

I couldn't get any sleep last night as every time I dropped off my body thought the pile was an escaping poo and clenched my bum causing me to wake up in agony.

Just when I didn't think it could get any worse I have overdone the lactulose and have diarrhoea :-(

I have tried the ointments, warm baths and ice in my pants all to no avail. I honestly don't see how I can survive potentially another 11 days of this (booked in for an elcs a week on weds).

Any advice or positive stories of miraculous recoveries welcome :-(

I got my first pile ever about 2 weeks ago. DH laughed his head off grrrr. It hurt for the first day or two but then stopped hurting so much and just stung a little when wiping, after 4 days it was completely gone Smile. I didn't use any ointments or anything and was too embarrassed to tell my GP Grin. Just try not to sit on any cold/hard surfaces as apparently they make them worse. Thanks

lol, i kno this is no laughing mater but your post did mke me giggle. i got piles witj last pregnancy on top of my vaginal varicose veins [it wasnt a pretty sight down there]. and they did go away once the baby came but not until then. all i can say is focus on the positive that u wont have to actually have to push against those veins in labour like i did cos i still crings at the thought, my partner said it looked like aliens trying to escape my nether regions! ile be having an electice cc this time due to havin had gyne surgery in march so if they do recur at lesst i can reassure myself with that thought x

Thanks ladies, it is certainly a case of if you don't laugh you'll cry (and I have cried buckets).

Chilli I hope I am like you but fear will follow in Lozza's footsteps - thank god for the elcs ( I was flirting with the idea of a vbac but the piles are the final nail in its coffin)!!!
