Talk to me about leaking / breast pads

Ok so I'm only 25+3 but I've started 'leaking' a bit already- mainly just from my right breast and the fluid is clear with traces of yellowy-gold (sorry tmi!) which I assume is colostrum?? ( and I hope not an infection!)

I take it there's no way to stop this?! Sometimes it happens if I accidentally put pressure on my breast which I'm trying not to do as I don't want to stimulate it more but sometimes it just happens!

I'm hoping this is a positive sign about my ability to breastfeed when the time comes but am I going to have to put up with this for the next 3+ months until the baby comes?!

I bought some Lansinoh stick on breast pads but is there any alternative that's less 'big'? Although it's only a few drops, I have to use something so I don't get a mark on my tops when at work Blush

I'm 29+4 and noticed over the last week that my breast leaks In the night - on the side I am laying on. It's leaves a stain likes fake tan would. However I noticed a couple of spots that look like blood, I'm a sure that's not normal!! My breasts don't hurt at all though. I've heard that tescos own breast pads are very good!

I've found most breast pads to be of a similar size. If its only a tiny amount would a cotton wool pad be enough to absorb it?

Yes I tried that as that's what I thought but keeping it in place is the issue...imagine if it fell out too! Blush

the asda own brand ones are smaller than the big brand ones and they're fine when you're only leaking little bits. I started leaking really early but it only lasted a couple weeks and then stopped until the end so don't worry it might not last your whole pregnancy.

Little lambs make some lovely reusable breast pads made from soft bamboo material, they're really absorbent and comfortable - I'm still bf my 9 month old DS and wear these everyday - they're lush!
