Hair disaster!!! Hormones to blame?

Omg my hair is purple!!! I have been seeing same hairdresser and having the same bling highlights for 3 years and today I had my roots done. As she was washing it I could see purple streaks!! It is terrible; like a purple rinse colour where the highlights should be. She said it was the hormones & didn't charge me. She is going to see me after work to try and fix it.
Has anyone else had this problem?

It's most likely not hormones--it's possible, (extra heat coming from scalp, but generally not enough to make a difference) but it sounds like she either left the violet-based toner on too long or she lifted the highlights up too light and therefore they "grabbed" the extra violet from the toner.
It's an incredibly easy thing to fix--wash your hair a few times in fairy liquid and you might not even have to go in to get it fixed. Definitely go back and see her if that doesn't work though...but it usually does. Don't worry!
Can you tell what I do for a living?

I've had highlights through 2 pregnancies (well, currently 24 weeks into 2nd) and never had this. Sounds like "hormones" was a convenient excuse! Might be worth you asking this in S&B though as there are some colour gurus there who might know more.

Sounds like she left toner on too long! I did the same before i was pregnant and my ENTIRE head went blue! i had to rebleach it and it made my hair a dry mess. yours doesn't sound half as bad though!

Hmm sounds like she was covering her self but she didn't charge me and said she would fix it: so no harm done. People who have seen it said it actually looks quite cool.
