I have a hunger that wont go away today.

So far I have munched my way through:

A bowl of cereal
two slices of toast
apple
nectarine
soup
some maoam sweets

I am still hungry.

somebody stop me eating, or tell me what to eat that will fill me up!

Anyone else just have days where they are constantly hungry.

That doesn't seem that much to me to have eaten by 1pm! Although I suppose it depends on what time you got up. But yes there are some days when I am incredibly hungry esp between 18-24 wks. Less now that I am 26 weeks.

EmB1715 · 10/07/2013 13:15

That doesn't sound like a lot to me!! I eat so much too. Try some protein..so meat or baked beans, cheese, eggs. Eat a filling lunch :)

AbiElizabeth · 10/07/2013 13:18

I thought it was a lot of food. Confused

How much do you guys eat?

If you're hungry, that means it's time for a proper lunch.

EmB1715 · 10/07/2013 13:20

I tend to have cereal and toast for breakfast and then a snack of fruit. And then something like soup, sandwich or jacket potato for lunch. So about the same! And to be honest the fruit doesn't really count towards putting on weight!

AbiElizabeth · 10/07/2013 13:23

I guess so, fruit is good for me, so I can eat lots Grin

I'm just glad we don't have any real junk food in the house else it would be demolished.

I had a day like this yesterday, was constantly eating! My whole day consisted of:

Bowl of cereal
Banana
Granola crunch corner yog
1 1/2 peanut butter sandwiches
A twister ice cream
3 ginger nuts
4 fruit sweets
A bag of vegetable crisps
1/4 bacon and sweetcorn pizza with broccoli and carrots (I skipped the chips due to what I had already eaten!)
Then finished it off with ice cream and toffee sauce.

I was still not full but just thought oh god this is all too much!!!

At least I got a bit of fruit and veg in Hmm not enough really I know.

AbiElizabeth · 10/07/2013 13:51

I've now eaten scrambled eggs aswell. Feel like I haven't eaten any food at all. Confused

Maoam sweets won't fill you up, personally soup doesn't fill me either unless its very thick and full of all sorts of chunky things like lentils or served with half a loaf of bread and butter

Trying to stick to a healthier eating plan than I did last pregnancy as I gained a ridiculous amount last time although I accept that pregnancy just seems to make me hungry!! Average day would be something like
Breakfast - scrambled egg on toast
Snack - fruit
Lunch - sandwich and crisps
Snack - hummus and crudités
Tea - spaghetti bolognese
Supper - chocolate bar
So far am at 6 weeks and only gained 1lb despite being super hungry constantly since before I knew I was pregnant!!

FoofFighter · 10/07/2013 14:23

you'll get days like this, I think I am having one today!!

How about a big bowl of porridge (I know in this heat?!)

FoofFighter · 10/07/2013 14:24

And are you drinking enough, sometimes easy to mistake thirst for hunger

AbiElizabeth · 10/07/2013 14:30

I have drunk loooads of water today. I don't really get why people get thirsty and hungry confused. They are two totally different sensations. Your tummy rumbles when you're hungry...Confused

Porridge is food made from the devils semen, so think i'll pass Grin

I was starving until 24/25 weeks. It's calmed now, although I did have two breakfasts this morning.

My rule of thumb is to eat more fruit than cake.

FoofFighter · 10/07/2013 14:44

Protein is def the way forward :)

LouiseD29 · 10/07/2013 21:01

I'm nearly 36 weeks and my main pregnancy change has been two breakfasts! I need to eat something (usually cereal or toast) before I attempt the commute to work or I get all dizzy and then I have something else when I get to work - wholegrain muffin or yoghurt and fruit or croissant

Was starving and constantly eating in the first trimester, but have settled down a bit now. Still eat too much chocolate though and just enjoyed a MASSIVE bowl of strawberries and cream. Mmmmm!!!!!

HeffalumpTheFlump · 10/07/2013 22:11

I can't stop today!! I've had:

Chocolate shreddies
Piece of bread and butter
Cereal bar
Tropical fruit salad
Pombears
Quiche and salad
Chocolate pancake
Cheesestring
Babybel
Banana

I think that's it... Still hungry though! Might have some carrots and hummous! I'm 26 weeks by the way :)

TwickyWoo · 11/07/2013 15:03

I'm going to suggest Protein as well! A lot of what you are listing is carbs and sugary fruits (yes I know it is good sugar, but sugar all the same) which will send you on the carb rollercoaster all day. Like RockChick suggests you should try adding scrambled eggs to wholegrain toast and trying to eat more veggies rather than just fruit all of the time. Crudites and hummous is a great snack. Eating yoghurt as an afternoon snack can also help - and make sure you're drinking lots and lots - especially in this heat. I eat like crazy when I'm dehydrated... and it always take me a while to realise that I need to drink more to eat less - doh!

That said I'm only 17 weeks and already feeling massive, so who am I to say - LOL!
