Anyone else had this? I keep getting small circular bruises in particular on my thighs. I haven't knocked them or anything they just keep appearing!

Have a chat to your doc or midwife. Funny things can happen to your blood when you're pregnant (not bad!) but it's always best to get any change checked out - just to put your mind at rest as you don't want any worries niggling away.

9 weeks! awwwwwww [broody].

Moonin I'm not too worried as I have a history for bruising easily for no reason.. Ended up in A&E one night with petechia (pin prick bruising) that NHS direct said could be a meningitis rash and sent me an ambulance! Had countless blood tests and no reason for my bruising it just happens. It went away for about 2 months and has only just come back when I'm pregnant so wondered whether it was just to do with being pregnant?
One doctor told me some people just have leaky veins!

I have had leaky veins too! I once ended up looking like I had been battered when I had been really itchy and scratched like mad - then when I looked was covered in bruises. The pharmacist thought it was some sort of blood poisoning and almost gave me a heart attack!

I think you can bleed more easily when pregnant too. Always good to check though.

Moomins that's exactly what's happened to me! I have really bad eczema and end up awfully itchy all over my body - even places where I don't have the eczema so the scratching of my arms etc causes awful bruising!
Wonder if I've been scratching my legs in my sleep?

Possibly. I don't think the heat helps either to be honest. I always have bruises on my legs (mainly thighs) and some look really bad and I'm sure I should have remembered how they got there!

Don't Dr Google it though. It'll have you running to A&E!

Holly94 · 05/07/2013 10:18

Definitely wont be. I did that when I started bruising easily before and convinced myself I had leukemia!

You might have ITP. Can effect the platelet count in your blood. This can mean you bruise easily. They will know buy your blood tests so I wouldn't worry Smile
