Hi,

Pregnant with my first so no idea what's normal and what's something to get excited/worried about.

I'm only 34 weeks but I have started feeling different recently. Since turning 33 weeks it was like someone just pulled the plug on my capabilities, I can't sleep anymore, I can't sit still, I can't stand up or walk for longer than a few minutes. I generally just feel not right, like I'm a bit under the weather.

Quite often I'll get period pains, I've had one BH that really stood out, I couldn't talk through it and had to sit down and breathe, apart from that a few very mild BH but nothing painful.

I have had diorreah (sp?) all morning today, but no waters, no plug. Baby has been head down for 2 weeks now, with feet firmly in my side or my ribs.

Also this is really silly but I've had really strong instincts all along that have turned out to be right. I knew I was pregnant despite 3 negative tests, I knew he was boy, and for a while I've been convinced he's going to be early. I don't know if this is swaying my judgements and I'm making a fuss over normal pregnancy discomforts.

What do you think? Did you feel different in the week or 2 leading up to labour?

Thank you!

Just realised 2 more things, I've been getting like muscle weaknesses or something down one of my legs, I'll get a sharp pain and then my leg will just give way. And I've been needing to wee much more frequently. That makes me think he's moved even further down. BUT could equally be normal for this stage in pregnancy. I hope I'm just being paranoid!

This won't be much help, but I just wanted to say that I'm feeling quite similar to you.
I'm 34 weeks and I've been having period-like pains, sore legs, diarrhoea, feeling VERY tearful/hormonal... lots of similar symptoms to you and I'm at the same stage.
I'm not thinking that the pains mean that labour is imminent, I was assuming this kind of thing is normal at this stage, but this is my first baby so I don't know!

How have your emotions been? I cry at the drop of a hat now.

Also, I'm in a lot of discomfort a lot of the time with tummy pains.

Sorry to say but welcome to the 3rd trimester Grin. Paracetamol and rest are your friends!

Sorry ladies but this all sounds pretty normal to me. I'm 39+3 and have had all of that since 32ish weeks. If your at all worried speak to your midwife but there is a reason people say the last few weeks are the hardest. You have to slow down physically, you will find your very tired because your not comfortable for long and sleep does become more difficult. Aches and pains increase and bodily functions do begin to change.

If your babys movements reduce, water break, you get swelling, get severe of regular pains back or abdominal pain, chest pains or begin to pass out/ feel dizzy then its time to seek immediate help.

Thanks everyone! Despite the discomfort I'm glad he's not making an early bid for freedom! I'm sure I'll have lots of false "this is it!" moments over the next 6 weeks.

Sadly I'm 37 weeks and have had all the same issues but no I can't sleep at all :(

Hope your symptoms approve.

CuppaSarah · 22/06/2013 17:49

I had all that towards the end. All the niggles and the "This is deffinatly the real thing" built up until it actually was the real thing.

Trust your gut though. You'll probably just know when it's time. Good luck! Hopwfully it'll be easy labours all round for you guys.

nearly 33w and feeling the same, I simply cannot get comfy in the evenings and feeling like I did at 40w with the others!

SourSweets · 22/06/2013 21:29

Jeez, so it's only going to get worse. Although I am taking from CuppaSarah that the more discomfort you feel, the closer your baby's arrival is. In which case: BRING IT ON. (As long as he holds out til at least 36 weeks!)

Yeah, sorry just sounds like late pregnancy. But hey, it's finite. He could have dropped which could result in more pressure below, causing the diarrhoea and the weeing. Just tAke it as easy as possible. Smile
