One off private consultation with obstetrician?

Hi. I'm 7 weeks pregnant with DC3. Last week, at 6.5 weeks, I had the chicken pox. My GP was great, spoke with the obstetrics registrar at the hospital I am to have DC3 at, and they agreed on my course of treatment (a course of antivirals).

Given the risks for the unborn baby, I'd like to have a consultation with an obstetrician about my treatment going forward, what the risks are, should we be worried etc etc.

How do I arrange such an appointment? Can I just ring a private obstetrician? Do I need a referral from my GP?

Many thanks for any advice!

I would go through the G.P or midwife. I requested a consultant appointment because I had a medical concern and they arranged one for me. Saw one on the NHS.

As you may not have had your booking in appt yet definitely speak to your GP
