My Hubby and I decided to TTC our 3rd child last month. I have had a copper coil for the last 6 years and I was told I was being rather naive in thinking I would concieve straight away.

So I had the coil taken out last month during my period and then we got to it once the fertile period was around. My period was due today and just took a test and its positive although the vertical line is extremely faint. I just took it up to my husband as a Father's Day present.

Anyway would love to share this journey with others as none of my friends are having babies at the moment (apart from one friend who just had a MC and I think it would be unfair to keep talking about it with her). And would really like to have other ladies to get excited with.

So if you have not long found out come on over!

Congratulations! :) pg with #3 here too but I'm 35 weeks lol x

moominlike · 16/06/2013 08:56

Congratulations, and what a fantastic Fathers Day present! Maybe look at the antenatal club threads which are based on EDD (I'm in February :))

jacquiemccloy · 16/06/2013 09:22

Congratulations Smile

My DH and I are expecting our first, I'm 16+3. I was on the pill before but stopped last July when my in-laws came to stay at our house for a bit. We decided to stay off of it as we'd like a family and DH was concerned about long term effects of the pill.

The NHS say that a healthy couple take aprox a year to concieve say as July was approaching I was getting concerned but mid-march we fell pregnant.

I did the test just before April 1st (kicking myself now wishing I'd held on those couple of days Grin) ...the first one the line was so faint I left the bathroom DH expecting me to tell him what's happening and I made him read it to check me line wasn't in my head!! We did about 10 tests in total!! Grin

Hi everyone thanks for joining me.

'Moomin' what is EDD? Are you due in feb? I should be too although both my babies have been prem just 4 and 5 weeks early so I reckon it will be the same for this one as I get obstetric cholestasis and have to be induced.

'Tinky' you are almost there ooh you must be so excited good luck for the birth. Did your other 2 come on time?

'Jacquie' congratulations that must have been worrying but yes I have heard especially with the pill it takes a while to concieve. Everyone is different I suppose but some of my friends kept telling me I was mad thinking I could concieve straight away, so although I was desperate to I kept telling myself I probably wouldn't to avoid disappointment. I was also wondering if the line was my imagination but its definitely there, faint but there. I want to do a digital test now just to be sure.

Yeah my other two were 39+5. First came all by himself at a near little 6lb2. Was induced with second due to her size, she was 9lb3....but this ones even bigger, measured 5lb at 31 weeks so I could be induced earlier this time. Seeing consultant again Thursday to decide lol.
Tbh this last 35 weeks has absolutely flown by, so hopefully yours will too :) edd is estimated due date x

UniMama · 16/06/2013 10:57

Wow isn't that funny that your first was so small and the others so big? My first was born at exactly 35 weeks and she was 5lb 11 so I am sure she would have been huge. My second was born I think at 34+6 and he was 7lb 7 so I think he also would have been huge. My husband was 10lb 7 when born, I definitely do not want to be giving birth to a baby that big so the early births are fine by me as long as its not too early.

Hi there. I'm expecting number 3, have a gorgeous lil 3 year old son, lost our second in a mmc in Oct and have finally announced number 3 is on the way and allowed myself to become excited as we have reached our 20 week point! Congratulations everyone! I think it is still yet to sink in I will have a newborn again lol but I can't wait.

Fairydogmother · 16/06/2013 12:34

Congrats OP!

I came off the pill in January and was pregnant by mid February Grin so it def can happen quickly!

I'm due on 3 November so if there's any other ladies due in November feel free to join our ante natal thread!

TrudyW · 16/06/2013 15:21

I'm due November 2nd Fairydogmother!

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 16/06/2013 15:26

Congrats op, great fathers day present.

I'm 35 weeks with dc3 too, my blood pressure is creeping up despite medication so not sure how long I'll have left.

The end of this pregnancy has been by far the worst but this is the biggest so far and it's only average sized but my other 2 were small!

Fairydogmother · 16/06/2013 17:08

Feel free to join us trudyW!

UniMama · 16/06/2013 19:03

Congratulations 'trudy' and 'twinkle' good luck. I used to take pregnancy for granted, I did not even consider that I would not be having a healthy baby at the end of it. But so many friends and family have miscarried recently I am actually feeling a bit different about this one.

Hubby and I have been TTC for about six years with no luck (two definite early miscarriages, and several suspected).
Got my BFP yesterday and hoping it's third time lucky!

CubanoHabana · 16/06/2013 20:52

I too got my bfp today! Congrats!

UniMama · 17/06/2013 06:53

Oh congratulations 'weird' I really hope it is. You must both be over the moon. Sorry to hear about the MC, hopefully this is your time and everything will go to plan.

Hi 'Cubano' have you got any children already? Congratulations!

I actually can't quite believe it. I am praying I don't get sick as I have had severe hyperemisis with my first two pregnancies. Plus there is no way I can be having 4 day stays in hospital with my husband at work and 2 school age DC to ferry around. So I am praying this one is different.

Have any of you guys had hyperemisis or obstetric cholestasis before?

what milestones cant you wait for?

notspringchicken · 18/06/2013 09:05

Started TTC at the end of April got BFP 3 weeks later. Bit of a shock as am 39 and had been warned it could take over a year. Hubby naturally now thinks he's some kind of potent fertility God! Congrats to Moomin and all the other mummies-to-be!

urtwistingmymelonman · 18/06/2013 10:56

lol springchicken.
sounds like my fella.
hes 37 and was walking round with his chest puffed out for a while.

UniMama · 19/06/2013 05:08

Congratulations 'notspring', is this your first?

I can't believe I have forgotten so much since my last pregnancy. I am only 4 weeks and I am waking up out of my sleep in the night to go for a pee. It's 5 am and I am wide awake, not like me at all.
