false negative on hpt and blood

Has anyone had false negative blood and hpt and later found they were pregnant.

i think a friend of my sisters had a neg hpt and 3 neg blood tests. am sure its very rare though.

My sister in law had false negatives and 6 weeks into her pregnancy had a ++
