i have 2 kids both born very premature my oldest at 29 weeks whom is for the most part healthy and now 9yr old and my other son was born at 28 weeks and is now 5yr old he has a lot of health problems mostly all lungs/respiratory,brain,legs,and belly with my oldest they gave me 1 steroid shot before he was born but he was born with in the next hour or less so i am not sure if even got it but he is pretty healthy my youngest i got 2 shots weeks before he was born and he is the most sick and i am wondering if these shots could have anything to do with all his health problems today? please if anyone knows anything about this.
my son has been going through surgeries every year and is sick every month at best every other month always has either bronchitis, ammonia, or cruyp and this is year round he has breathing treatments but there not helping it helps for about a day or 2 then he is sick again he throws up all the time and what we thought was night terrors even though all his sleep studies were neg we recently found out have always been seizures and when he stars in to space during the day it is silent seizures as well as he has been diagnosed with as-burgers autism i feel like i am not getting all the answers i need as i mother to assure i am helping my son in every way i can. please if anyone knows anything more about the shots please let me know all you can.
thank you all so much

The steroid shots are safe, the problems you are concerned about could have more to do with there prematurity than anything else.

I have 9 year old and 5 year old boys too. Both of which had steroid shots when I was 33 weeks pregnant. Although my ds1 does have ADHD and dyslexia, this is more likely to do with vontous delivery it genetic than any other cause, my ds2 has no health or learning issues.

The steroids do more help than harm, I hope this reassures you?
