Has anyone ever told you they knew you were pregnant even though there is no way they could? My mum said this when I told her at the weekend. She said it was because I was picking at a salad instead of eating it. I always pick at salads.

Yes my mum with current bump, when I told her she said I knew u were when I saw u last week! She didn't have a definite reason, she said she just knew!

But tbh I'm pretty good at guessing when people I know are expecting, I've said to hubby about 6 times now, I'm sure *** is pregnant and a few weeks later they announce it lol weird!

My DP said I was pregnant about a week before we tested! He was right dont know how he knew tho I had no idea

Lj8893 · 13/06/2013 23:32

Yep!

A fairly regular customer where I work in a furniture shop came in when I was about 6 weeks and hadnt announced it to anybody at work except my boss due to heavy lifting etc.

She looked at me really funny when she came in and then when I had to get another colleague to lift something heavy for me she announced "I knew it!! Your pregnant arnt you!!" And of course my reaction "outed" me to my colleague!

I often know before friends tell me. I once woke up with a hunch so strong about a friend I texted her to laugh about it and she replied that she had literally just that minute done a test and it was positive!

I tend to know if people are pregnant early on. I just get a feeling like they almost look different and seem a bit different. Sometimes this is before they knew. Can't explain it but it does happen.

Sanch1 · 14/06/2013 08:27

I found out I was pregnant at 4+5, my friend from work who was off on maternity leave text me at 4+6 to ask if I was pregnant! I lied at the time, but came clean at 12 weeks, and she said she has known with all her friends early on, sometimes before them! weird.

M0co · 14/06/2013 08:38

I personally find this really annoying and can be a control technique. My MiL hasn't seen me for a month yet somehow miraculously 'knew'. It's like you want people to be surprised and excited and somehow saying 'I knew' takes that away. Maybe I'm just too negative though!! Smile

FobblyWoof · 14/06/2013 09:28

My mum knew my sister was pregnant before my sister knew she was pregnant! My mum was top he one who made her take a test!

I have a feeling she knows with me (I'm 11 weeks and we haven't told anyone).

A female colleague guessed straightaway after i had a dizzy spell at work....

roofio87 · 14/06/2013 10:20

my boss knew before I did!! she was on holiday when I found but when I next saw her and told her she said "I knew it, you were weeing way too much!!" Haha

Laquila · 14/06/2013 10:26

M0co I totally agree! I find it irritating and wouldn't say it to someone else, personally.

With dd1 a psychic, a friend of a friends mum, announced it when I was 6 weeks pregnant in front of a large group of friends. Then wrote me a letter and sealed in in an envelope telling me not to open til after I had the baby. I found it when dd was about 6 months and inside it said DDs name plus another I had considered with ?? Beside it, her dob ( 2 weeks early), csection, her weight and the letter C drawn inside a square with a ? Beside it. I was in ward C and the sign was square with a big C.

Freaked me out but I wish I knew how to find her again as although generally I don't/didn't believe in that stuff, she got everything right.

This time, a little boy, no more thsn 3 years old, in tesco pointed at my belly and told his mum " that lady have a baby!" I had only found out that morning. She said the kid had correctly "seen" several friends babies before they had even tested. DD did this too when she was very little but stopped by age 3, but still has other weird intuition things.

igirisu · 14/06/2013 20:24

A couple of people told me this old chestnut, one being a work colleague who "knew I was" but still watched me struggle with mounds of filing up and down stairs for weeks! I don't think anyone knew x

muffins · 14/06/2013 21:46

That's a bit spooky bluecarrot

HorsesDogsNails · 14/06/2013 21:59

When I was about 8 weeks pg with DD I was at my mum's for a cuppa and her friend came in. Mum and her have been friends for 30+ years and she has obviously known me for most of my life..... After I left she said to my mum 'when is Horses' baby due?', mum replied that I wasn't pg as far as she knew!!

This came out 2 weeks later when we announced to parents/family!!! Mum's friend doesn't know how she knew, she just did.....

FoofFighter · 15/06/2013 14:23

When I was about 5 weeks pregnant I had a Xmas meal to go to. I sat down at the table, another woman who I know just a tiny bit, looked long and hard at me and just said you're pregnant aren't you? I was so flabbergasted I couldn't deny it!
