Anyone used the Early Response test and got a result early?

Hiya

Have popped over here from the Conception board.

Am in the 2ww and wondering whether to shell out on an Early Response test, has anyone used them and got a good early positive on them?

I know I should just be patient but I am addicted to POAS!

Cheers
Ali

As I have PCOS my cycles can be longer or shorter, my last 4 cycles were 29 days, I got 3 -ves (different brands) days 28-30 got many +ves from day 37 when we went for our 1st scan thought we would be 8 weeks but we were only 6. As long as your cycles are regular and no gynae issues and you know when you ovulated I'd test on Sunday
Good Luck

I got my best line with a FR test (also tried tesco and superdrug - I had quite a collection!)

Ebay, 15 tests for £2 and they're as sensitive as Superdrug and First Response. I will never understand why people spend £££. Otherwise, Home Bargains and Poundland where it's obviously £1 or less for 2 tests, likewise v sensitive.

I have some cheapies from Amazon but not sure how sensitive they are. I think I am a little obsessed! :)

I got a positive 2 days before period due with a first response. Also had cheapies from amazon which were supposed to be v sensitive and they didn't show a positive until I was about a week late (yes I kept POAS as I didn't believe I was pg!!)

I got a positive at 9dpo on one of those amazon cheapies, although i found the superdrug tests far more reassuring. Best of luck

I got a gray line on day 9 of 2 week wait and have had good success with them if you really can't wait!

I tested yesterday with an Early Response and a Superdrug, and BFN! What a disappointment. But I now have a decent stash of tests to use in future and will hopefully get an early BFP on them sometime soon.

If you like POASing then the superdrug ovulation tests are quite good as well :)

Why are you out?!
Im due today, and still getting bfn. Same as every day for the last week Grin
Its not over until its over.

I know its really hard, but try not to test too much before AF is due. You're just torturing yourself, and it is quite unlikely that you'll get a positive much before.
(i know how hard it is, I've just spent the last 2 years doing it)

After I started doing the ov tests I made myself wait 2 full weeks after the positive ov test. - I often cracked a day or 2 beforehand though.

The lower the number of miu/L a test can detect the better. First response ones are 12.5 miu/L; superdrug 10 miu/L; clearblue I think 25 miu/L; internet cheap ones you can get at 10 miu/L as well. However, one of these internet ones showed a faint partial line with me when it should have been negative, so I don't trust those any more!

Oh I figured if the sensitive tests weren't picking anything up then I'm almost certainly not pregnant. I think with DD I got a positive on a Tesco one the day before AF due.

I know, I am definitely torturing myself! :) I can't seem to help it. I was hopeful this morning as just one day before AF due.

I don't seem to get positive Ov tests (not done one for a while) so no idea when in cycle I Ov'ed - got negatives on sticks the month I fell with DD so I am sure I am doing it wrong!

I don't think my Internet cheapies are reliable either - lost a baby earlier this year and they were showing negative afterwards when other brands were still showing a BFP. Maybe I went too cheap on the cheapies!

Oh and blueamber thanks for the info re concentrations - I noticed that FR didn't actually state their sensitivity on the packaging which makes me think it can't be that impressive, so it's interesting to know that Superdrug are in fact more sensitive.

Get some ov tests and do then every day from about day 10 (not first morning wee though). Mark 2 weeks from + on calendar and try to wait until then to tests. Seems to make it easier somehow.

It was worth doing them for me because I didn't ov at the time I thought I would have done - it was several days later and we kept missing it.

Thanks I will try that next cycle, I get confused what time of day to do them, I think the CB can be done with FMU? Whereas before I was trying at 2pm but not managing to be consistent plus kept drinking gallons of coke beforehand so probably made wee too dilute anyway.

So 14 DPO is safest time to test and have a BFP reliably show up? I guess that ties in with day of missed period for a lot of people.

I've not heard great things about the clearblue ov tests (and they're expensive), go with Superdrug again.

If you have a regular 28ish day cycle the 14 dpo will likely fit, yes.
