I keep having nose bleeds I've read it's common but I'm having a lot of them I'm only 9 weeks and have probably had one every other day. I started doing a pregnancy diary Monday to keep a note. I had one on Monday morning and one yesterday morning and yesterday evening. Surely that's too often.

It's happened on both my pregnancies, it's normal apparently.

I've had quite a few in this pregnancy also. My midwife wasn't concerned about it when I mentioned it.

I ad this and saw my doctor as I ended up anaemic and feeling awful.. He prescribed naseptin, which I applied for about ten days and haven't had any more for about eight weeks, think its an antibiotic- I had a small cut inside my nose that wasn't healing due to infection and this did the trick.

I think I had around one per week in my first trimester but nothing past 12 weeks to date. It scared me a bit since I'd not had one since I was little x

In first trimester I also had twice.. I propped up my pillows while sleeping.. and avoided hot spicy foods .. and ginger-garlic, drum sticks Or really meaty type meals(which are warm foods in behaviour).

I had lots of nose bleeds up to about 13 weeks then they stopped. I wouldn't worry, but speak to your midwife if you are worried x

Completely normal - I'm 37 weeks now and still get about 1 nosebleed a week though they're not nearly as bad as they were in the first trimester. Just another revolting symptom that nobody warns you about I'm afraid!

DaveMccave · 12/06/2013 21:07

I'd never had a nosebleed in my life until this (second) pregnancy. Was quite a shock when I woke up with blood all over my pillow and face! Had several between about weeks 16-21 and not had one since (30 wks) Totally normal, just increased blood volume, as well as congestion from progesterone. My midwife was surprised actually but i'd read it on several pregnancy apps before it happened so wasn't concerned.

IControlSandwichMonkey · 12/06/2013 21:11

I have never had a nosebleed in my life. But when pregnant with both dc, particularly in the first trimester, I woke up most days, blew my nose and there was blood. Not a nosebleed as such but definitely blood on blowing in a morning.

Midwife was unconcerned and confirmed the congestion/increased blood volume thing.

I had nosebleeds throughout. Got worse in third tri. They were clotty and horrid and frequent. Doc said it was normal. Fwiw I had DD 10 days ago and not had a nosebleed since.
